METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR NON-INVASIVE MEASUREMENT OF SOIL CHLORINE AND/OR NITROGEN CONTENT AND FOR DETECTING SUB-SURFACE CHLORINE OR NITROGEN-CONTAINING OBJECTS
The presence of chlorine and nitrogen are determined and measured using a non-invasive portable neutron-generating and gamma ray detecting system(s). Portable devices of the present invention can also be used to detect chlorine and/or nitrogen-containing underground objects rapidly and on-site. Devices and systems described herein can be operated remotely and pre-programmed with search patterns, guided by an operator remotely, or programmed to home in on high-chlorine and/or nitrogen concentration areas.

NEUTRON ASSAY
Disclosed are systems and methods for detecting fissile material. The systems and methods include devices and operations for measuring background neutron detection events using a plurality of fast neutron detectors arranged around a stimulation neutron source, measuring sample neutron detection events using the plurality of fast neutron detectors arranged around a small volume of sample material, measuring stimulated neutron detection events using the plurality of fast neutron detectors when the sample material is irradiated by the stimulation neutron source, (which in various implementations, includes determining a number of single neutron detection events), and determining a presence of fissile material in the sample material based upon the background neutron detection events, sample neutron detection events and the stimulated neutron detection events.
Method and device for monitoring the attentiveness of an operating person
The invention relates to a method and corresponding devices for monitoring the attention of an operator of an X-ray inspection system for nondestructive inspection of inspection objects and for ensuring the presence and/or attention of an operator of the X-ray inspection system including the following steps: display of a piece of information that defines a randomly determined desired input; detection of an actual input of the operator as a response to the displayed desired input; and, based on the desired input and the actual input, determination of a signal that indicates the attention of the operator.
SCAN METHOD, SCAN SYSTEM AND RADIATION SCAN CONTROLLER
This invention provides a scan method, scan system and radiation scan controller, and relates to the field of radiation. Wherein, the scan method of this invention comprises: obtaining detection data of an object to be inspected under radiation scanning using a detector; adjusting an accelerator output beam dose rate and/or an output electron beam energy level of a radiation emission device according to the detection data. With this method, working conditions of the accelerator of the radiation emission device may be adjusted according to the detection data detected by the detector, so that for a region having a larger mass thickness, a higher output beam dose rate or a higher electron beam output energy level is adopted to guarantee satisfied imaging technical indexes, for a region having a smaller mass thickness, a lower output beam dose rate or a lower electron beam output energy level is adopted to reduce the environmental dose level while guaranteeing satisfied imaging technical indexes.
X-Ray Backscatter Inspection System
Apparatus and methods for Compton scattering radiography employing a variable energy X-ray source and a detector capable of detecting the temporal intensity profile of scattered X-ray pulses disposed on one side of an object to be imaged. Based on analysis of the measurement of the instantaneous intensity of the detected photons and the beam position relative to the object, an image is generated. Each voxel can be reconstructed to yield a measure of variation in the density of the material of the object.
Portable security inspection system
The present specification discloses a radiographic inspection system for screening an area. The inspection system has a container that defines an enclosed volume, a radiation source positioned within the enclosed volume, a detector array, a movable structure attached to a portion of the base of the container, and a controller programmed to move the movable structure to achieve an optimum height of the radiation source's field of view based upon a plurality of data.
