Downhole Power Generator and Pressure Pulser Communications Module on a Side Pocket
A downhole communications system comprises a power generator disposed proximate a predetermined portion of a side pocket mandrel in such a way as to not impede fluid flow within a wellbore into which the side pocket mandrel is disposed and a wireless communications transmitter operatively in communication with the power generator. Placed at least partially within a side pocket mandrel, the system allows fluid flowing proximate the side pocket mandrel to engage the power generator to create electric energy which may be used to power the wireless communications transmitter and allow data interchange between the wireless communications transmitter and a predetermined well device.
WELL MONITORING WITH AUTONOMOUS ROBOTIC DIVER
A monitoring apparatus for use in a well can include multiple segments, the segments comprising at least one buoyancy control device, at least one communication device, and at least one well parameter sensor. A method of communicating in a subterranean well can include installing at least one monitoring apparatus in the well, the monitoring apparatus including a communication device, a well parameter sensor and a buoyancy control device, and the communication device communicating with another communication device. A well monitoring system can include at least one monitoring apparatus disposed in a wellbore, the monitoring apparatus comprising multiple segments, the segments including at least one buoyancy control device, at least one well parameter sensor, and at least one communication device.
ARRANGEMENT STRUCTURE FOR VICINITY INFORMATION DETECTION SENSOR
An arrangement structure for a vicinity information detection sensor, the arrangement structure comprising: a vicinity information detection sensor provided on a roof of a fuel cell bus; and an obstruction portion provided between the vicinity information detection sensor and a hydrogen tank disposed on the roof, the obstruction portion obstructing the hydrogen tank from coming into contact with the vicinity information detection sensor.
Threat detection method and system
This invention related to a method of and system for detecting a threat, particularly a threat to a vehicle associated with an explosive blast and/or detonations. The method typically comprises receiving electromagnetic signals, or data indicative thereof, via a suitable electromagnetic detector arrangement from a target area adjacent the vehicle, as well as receiving optical signals, or data indicative thereof, via a suitable optical sensor arrangement also from a target area adjacent the vehicle. The method then comprises generating a threat detect output in response to receiving an optical signal indicative of a threat subsequent to receiving an electromagnetic signal indicative of a threat. The system typically implements the method as described. The invention also extends to a vehicle comprising a system in accordance with the invention.

LWD resistivity imaging tool with adjustable sensor pads
A logging while drilling tool for measuring a geological formation surrounding a wellbore includes a tool body having one or more sensor pads. Each sensor pad is coupled to the tool body by an extendable coupling that is operable to adjust the radial position of the sensor pad by extending away from or retracting toward the tool body. One or more sensors are mounted to each sensor pads and the sensors are operable to obtain a measurement a property of the formation. The tool also includes a downhole control unit having a transmitter and receiver. The downhole control unit is operable to receive the measurement and transmit the measurement to a surface controller, wherein the transmitted measurement indicates a measurement resolution.
