High density bundled optical fiber cable with preconnectorized drop points
Embodiments of a bundled optical fiber cable are provided. Included therein is a central cable unit spanning a first length from a first end to a second end. The central cable unit has a first plurality of optical fibers disposed within a cable jacket. The bundled optical fiber cable also includes at least one optical fiber drop cable wound around the cable jacket of the central cable unit. Each optical fiber drop cable spans a second length from a first end to a second end. Further, each optical fiber drop cable includes one or more optical fibers disposed within a buffer tube. The first end of each optical fiber drop cable is substantially coterminal with the first end of the central cable unit, and the first length spanned by the central cable unit is longer than the second length spanned by each of the optical fiber drop cables.
Splice sleeve holder nest
A fiber splice cassette includes a main chassis, a removable cover, splice sleeve holders, and four cable clamp boots. The main chassis forms a cavity having a plurality of cable organizing tabs for cable management. Splice sleeve holders are located in the cavity of the main chassis, each of the splice sleeve holders being selectively removable from a corresponding splice sleeve holder nest and being configured for specific splicing capabilities while maintaining the structural strength of the holders. The splice sleeve holder nests may be selectively and removably attached to an interior surface of the fiber cable enclosure via a variety of means to allow the splice sleeve holder nests to be easily rotated, relocated, or accessed for maintenance.
Virtual and augmented reality systems and methods
A method for displaying virtual content to a user, the method includes determining an accommodation of the user's eyes. The method also includes delivering, through a first waveguide of a stack of waveguides, light rays having a first wavefront curvature based at least in part on the determined accommodation, wherein the first wavefront curvature corresponds to a focal distance of the determined accommodation. The method further includes delivering, through a second waveguide of the stack of waveguides, light rays having a second wavefront curvature, the second wavefront curvature associated with a predetermined margin of the focal distance of the determined accommodation.

Fiber access extension over power line drop
Devices, systems, and methods for extending an optical distribution network to an end point in a user's premises over a power line drop cable that supplies metered power to the premises are disclosed. An existing power line drop cable to the premises serves as an intermediate medium to transmit high-bandwidth data from an optical distribution network to a transceiver in a user's premises. Fiber from an optical distribution network connects to an outside-plant optical-to-electronic device comprising at least an optical network unit and a domain master. The device is powered by electricity from the electrical network to which the first power line drop cable is attached. The device can have an electromagnetic-interference filter.
COMPOSITE PANEL ELEMENT FOR GUIDING LIGHT
A composite panel element for guiding light, a window having the same, and a method for producing the same. To provide a composite panel element with good light guiding properties and being optically transparent and homogeneous, the composite panel element for guiding light has a first panel element with a first microstructure on a first inner surface and a second panel element with a second microstructure on a second inner surface. The first and the second microstructure have respective depressions/elevations. The panel elements are arranged such that the first and the second inner surface are facing one another, and the first and second microstructure are arranged such that internal micro-cavities are formed between the microstructures. The first and second microstructure have respective planar-contact adhesion sections for force-lockingly securing the panel elements to one another and/or corresponding latching sections for form-lockingly and/or force-lockingly securing the panel elements to one another.
Modular fiber optic tray
The present invention provides modular trays having cutout features that are configured to engage with a mounting feature of one or more removable rails. The removable rails may be removably secured to a tray body in a plurality of positions to allow a user to install or uninstall rails to support different sized fiber optic modules. For example, a tray may support a twenty-four optical fiber module, two twelve optical fiber modules, or three eight optical fiber modules. Fiber optic enclosures housing the trays can be affixed to the outside of a fiber optic enclosure and allow for easy stacking and unstacking.
Fiber optic cable distribution box
A fiber optic cable distribution box has an interface compartment for interfacing a first set of fibers when routed inside the compartment, with a second set of fibers associated with a fiber optic cable that is routed to the box. A drum region is disposed beneath the interface compartment. The drum region includes a cylindrical wall for supporting a fiber optic cable wound about the wall. The drum region is formed so that the box can turn about the axis of the cylindrical wall when a cable is paid out from the drum region. The interface compartment and the drum region are constructed so that the first set of fibers inside the interface compartment, originate from an inside end portion of the cable wound on the drum region.
Optical apparatus, on-board system, and movement apparatus
An optical apparatus includes a deflector configured to deflect illumination light from a light source to scan an object, and configured to deflect reflected light from the object, a light guide configured to guide the illumination light form the light source to the deflector, and configured to guide the reflected light from the deflector to a light receiving element, an optical member having a reflective area that makes first light which is part of the illumination light from the deflector incident on the deflector by reflection, and a controller configured to obtain information regarding the deflector on the basis of information of the first light from the reflective area. In a cross-section including the optical path from the reflective area to the light guide, a width of the reflective area is smaller than a width of the illumination light on the reflective area.
