An additive delivery system may incorporate a cartridge system, including a container cap and a reservoir assembly that provides for storage of an additive. The container cap includes a mixing nozzle for mixing of the additive with a base fluid as the base fluid flows from the base fluid container through the cartridge. A one-way valve prevents backflow of base fluid and/or mixed base fluid/additive from an area downstream of the mixing nozzle such that the base fluid supply remains in a pure state.

The coffee brewer includes a container with an inner volume, a closed end and an open end. A lid includes an inside with an inner area and an outside, for sealing attachment to the open end. An outlet and a valve, are configured to open or close a flow path between the container and the outlet. A coffee filter is secured to the inside of the lid, in the flow path between the container and the outlet. The outlet is configured to allow pouring of coffee while actuating the valve, and the valve can be actuated from a closed position to an open position with the closed end of the container facing up and the container being above the lid, without spilling coffee on an operator of the valve.

An apparatus may comprise a heater, a brewer, a chiller, and a heat exchanger. The heater may be configured to heat water to produce heated water. The brewer may be configured to brew a beverage using the heated water. The chiller may be configured to chill the beverage to produce a chilled beverage. The heat exchanger may have a first fluid flow path and a second fluid flow path in thermal communication with the first fluid flow path. An input to the first fluid flow path may be configured to receive source water and an output of the first fluid flow path may be configured to provide the water to the heater. An input to the second fluid flow path may be configured to receive the beverage from the brewer and an output of the second fluid flow path may be configured to provide the beverage to the chiller.

Warm product dispensing

A system is provided using targeted narrowband radiation emitting devices or arrays of devices that offers a solution to the difficulties surrounding heated product dispensing. Rather than maintaining an entire reservoir of product at a raised temperature, much smaller volumes (single portions or small multiples thereof) can be held ready and at temperature to be dispensed without wasting additional energy on keeping a large volume of product warm. This is achieved by leveraging the unique, targeted nature of these devices to quickly and accurately heat a small amount of product separated out from the main reservoir and held ready for dispensing.
