A laminate, including a substrate having a microstructure on a surface thereof; and a coating layer formed on the substrate and encapsulating the microstructure of the substrate. A glass transition temperature T.sub.1 of the substrate is higher than a glass transition temperature T.sub.2 of the coating layer. A method of producing an ophthalmic lens, including deforming the laminate into a shape of the ophthalmic lens by applying heat and/or pressure at a temperature of lower than T.sub.1.

Motorized Loupes

Motorized loupes enable the user to automatically increase or decrease the magnification on demand, without touching the loupes. Each loupe has a micromotor attached to it which moves a lens in the loupe to change the magnification. The motor is battery powered and the batteries are carried in a small housing worn by the user. The housing also contains electronic circuitry that at least reads the position encoders, drives the motors, receives the user's magnification commands and charges the battery when plugged in. A cord runs from each loupe to the housing to carry power and signals. The motors are controlled wirelessly by a foot pedal or by voice so that the user does not have to touch the loupes to change the magnification. In the preferred embodiment of surgical loupes, a TTL loupe is attached to each lens in a user's eyeglasses for binocular vision.

Color temperature adjustable and dimmable magnifier

A color temperature adjustable and dimmable magnifier comprises: a housing, a magnifying lens, a plural set of light emitting members and a control member, the housing comprises a lens carrier and a grip connecting the lens carrier; the magnifying lens is set in the lens carrier; the plural set of light emitting members are set around the lens carrier, each set of the light emitting member includes a cold light source and a warm light source; and the control member connects each cold light source and each warm light source, the control member controls turning on and off cold light sources and warm light sources according to the external instructions received, and adjusts the brightness of cold light sources and warm light sources to combine into a plural color temperature. The color temperature adjustable and dimmable magnifier can meet the various needs of users for color temperature and brightness.

Angularly selective attenuation of light transmission artifacts in wearable displays

A wearable display system includes an eyepiece stack having a world side and a user side opposite the world side. During use, a user positioned on the user side views displayed images delivered by the wearable display system via the eyepiece stack which augment the user's field of view of the user's environment. The system also includes an optical attenuator arranged on the world side of the of the eyepiece stack, the optical attenuator having a layer of a birefringent material having a plurality of domains each having a principal optic axis oriented in a corresponding direction different from the direction of other domains. Each domain of the optical attenuator reduces transmission of visible light incident on the optical attenuator for a corresponding different range of angles of incidence.
