System for 3D image projections and viewing

Shaped glasses have curved surface lenses with spectrally complementary filters disposed thereon. The filters curved surface lenses are configured to compensate for wavelength shifts occurring due to viewing angles and other sources. Complementary images are projected for viewing through projection filters having passbands that pre-shift to compensate for subsequent wavelength shifts. At least one filter may have more than 3 primary passbands. For example, two filters include a first filter having passbands of low blue, high blue, low green, high green, and red, and a second filter having passbands of blue, green, and red. The additional passbands may be utilized to more closely match a color space and white point of a projector in which the filters are used. The shaped glasses and projection filters together may be utilized as a system for projecting and viewing 3D images.

Disclosed herein are light emitting device that emit highly circularly polarized light. These devices may be used to form a dot-matrix display or an electronic information display comprised of a series of photopolymerizable, chiral liquid crystalline layers that can be solvent cast on a substrate. The mixture of chiral materials in each successive layer may be blended in such a way that each layer has the same chiral pitch and may also be blended so that the ordinary and extraordinary refractive indices in each layer match the other layers such that the complete assembly of layers will optically function as a single relatively thick layer of chiral liquid crystal. The chiral nematic material in each layer can spontaneously adopt a helical structure with a helical pitch. Further disclosed are pixel structures that not only emit light with brightness and chromaticity information, but also depth of focus information as well.

Optical Package Having Tunable Filter
20220365339 · 2022-11-17 ·

An optoelectronic device, including a tunable optical filter or tunable optical filter with photodiode, uses voltage differentials to filter an optical signal passing along an optical path. A membrane has an electrode and is disposed adjacent a fixed mirror and another. A central portion of the membrane is distanced from the fixed mirror and has an aperture in which a second mirror is disposed. This second mirror translates with the membrane at a freespace gap relative to the fixed mirror when the electrodes are subject to the voltage differentials. In turn, the freespace gap is configured as a Fabry-Perot etalon to pass one or more spectral frequencies of the optical signal along the optical path. The membrane is shaped and reinforced to limit possible bowing. The translatable mirror in the aperture of the membrane is also shaped and reinforced to limit it from possible bowing as well.
