Adjustable focal length eyewear (11) comprising two lenses (21, 22) that are mounted to a frame (14, 15, 16) for supporting the lenses (21, 22) in front of a user's eyes. At least one of the lenses (21, 22) is a variable focal length lens of the kind comprising two superposed lens elements (31, 41) having cooperating optical surfaces that are shaped such that the focal length of the variable focal length lens (21, 22) is variable according to the relative lateral disposition of the lens elements (31, 41). One of the lens elements (31) is fixedly mounted to the frame (14, 15, 16) and the other lens element (41) is movable manually relative to the fixed lens element (31) for varying the focal length of the variable focal length lens (21, 22). Guiding parts (81, 82) are provided on the movable lens element (41) which cooperate with corresponding guiding parts on the fixed lens element (31) or the frame (14, 15, 16) to define and constrain movement of the movable lens element (41) relative to the fixed lens element (31) to a transverse path that extends across the viewing direction. One or more releasable fasteners are provided for releasably fastening the movable lens element (41) to the fixed lens element (31) or frame (14, 15, 16) whilst permitting movement of the movable lens element (41) relative to the fixed lens element (31) along the transverse path.

LENS HOLDING DEVICE

Systems, devices, and methods are provided for a lens holding device. In particular, the lens holding device may include a semi-rimless frame that secures transparencies having telescopic loupes. Certain embodiments of the lens holding device may further include angled or curved securing blocks with jackscrews threaded through that clamp a securing protrusion of the transparencies with telescopic loupes to the semi-rimless frame, increasing the securing strength of the transparency to the semi-rimless frame over conventional systems and methods.

CIRCUITS AND METHODS FOR WEARABLE DEVICE CHARGING AND WIRED CONTROL

Methods and devices for wired charging and communication with a wearable device are described. In one embodiment, a symmetrical contact interface comprises a first contact pad and a second contact pad, and particular wired circuitry is coupled to the first and second contact pads to enable charging as well as receive and transmit communications via the contact pads as part of various device states.

Spectacles having a spectacle frame and at least one additional frame that can be placed on the front of the spectacle frame so as to be removable, both frames having lenses made of transparent material. The lenses of the spectacle frame are varifocal lenses for the purpose of correcting vision for different distance ranges in order to achieve in each case maximum or clear visual acuity for at least one distance range, while the lenses of the additional frame are single-vision lenses or varifocal lenses. In combination with the lenses of the spectacle frame, the lenses of the additional frame correct vision in a manner customized to the needs of the user. In a simple, cost-effective and convenient manner, a broad field of sharp vision in all distance ranges is afforded to the user, and therefore significantly improved vision comfort tailored to their requirements is provided.

An article includes a hollow enclosure defining a void. The void has a first section and a second section separate from the first section. An electronic component is housed in the first section and the second section of the void. A low pressure mold material is molded into the first section of the void and cured around a first segment of the electronic component to encapsulate the first segment of the electronic component. A support seal is inserted into the second section of the void adjacent a second segment of the electronic component. The support seal defines a sealing barrier on one side of the low pressure mold material that limits the flow of low pressure mold material out of the first section of the void.
