Circuits and methods for wearable device charging and wired control
Methods and devices for wired charging and communication with a wearable device are described. In one embodiment, a symmetrical contact interface comprises a first contact pad and a second contact pad, and particular wired circuitry is coupled to the first and second contact pads to enable charging as well as receive and transmit communications via the contact pads as part of various device states.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for using eyewear, or other wearable item, to confirm the identity of an individual
Eyewear, according to various embodiments, comprises at least one biometric sensor that is adapted for taking a biometric reading from the wearer when the wearer is operatively wearing the eyewear and for transmitting the results of the biometric reading to one or more computer processors for use in determining whether the wearer is a particular individual. The eyewear may also include a wireless communications device for transmitting a signal (e.g., to a remote computing device) that confirms the identity of the wearer as the particular individual. A remote computing device, or other device, or individual, may then, based at least in part on receiving the signal, grant wearer access to a computer program, computing system, and/or a particular physical space.
Spectacle lens for a display device which can be placed on the head of a user and which generates an image, and display device comprising such a spectacle lens
A spectacle lens for a display device can be fitted on the head of a user and generate an image. The spectacle lens includes a coupling-in section, a coupling-out section, and a light guiding channel. The spectacle lens includes a first partial spectacle lens connected to a second partial spectacle lens. The light guiding channel runs in the first partial spectacle lens and the two partial spectacle lenses are connected to each other via contact surfaces which extend on the one hand from the front side to the rear side and on the other hand from the edge of the spectacle lens along a predetermined length in a second direction, which runs transversely with respect to the first direction.
SAFETY SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD
An apparatus for use with an item of personal protective equipment, where the item of personal protective equipment includes a sensor configured to detect when the personal protective equipment is being worn properly by the user. The apparatus is housed within a hand-held power tool that includes a power circuit. The apparatus includes an electrical isolation device configured to prevent current flow in at least one conductor included in the power circuit; a wireless communication device configured to wirelessly couple to a wireless communication device included in the personal protective equipment. The wireless communication device is configured to receive a wireless signal transmitted from the wireless communication device included the personal protective equipment, the wireless signal providing information concerning whether the user is wearing the item of personal protective equipment properly. The electrical isolation device operates to allow current flow in the at least one conductor when the information provided by the wireless signal indicates that the item of personal protective equipment is being worn properly by the user.

Electronic eyeglasses and methods of manufacturing
Disclosed herein are devices and methods for the design and manufacturing of electronic eyeglasses and associated components thereof. Electronic eyeglasses consist of electro-active lenses, receiving electrical signals that turn them on and off from an electronic control module. The electronic control module is embedded within a temple of the eyeglass frame, and is powered by a removable power source pack residing at a temple tip through a flexible cable. Various methods describe the interconnection schemes between the components of the electronic eyeglasses.
EYE GLASSES STRUCTURE
Provided is an eyeglasses structure, including a mounting groove provided inside at least one side of a frame, wherein the mounting groove has a perforation inside. When an electronic device passes through the perforation, the electronic device is fastened to the mounting groove. In addition, the electronic device has a switch that is exposed to the mounting groove.
Functional lens and functional eyeglasses provided with same
A functional lens which effectively prevents the separation of a functional layer in a fitting operation of a multilayer functional lens to a frame, and a pair of functional glasses with the lens are provided. The functional lens comprises a lens body and a laminate on the lens body. The laminate comprises, in sequence, a first thermoplastic resin layer, a first adhesive layer, an optically functional layer (e.g., a polarizing film), a second adhesive layer, and a second thermoplastic resin layer. The functional lens is to be fitted in a groove of a frame. The functional lens has an edge face having a shape with a peak. The peak of the edge face is positioned at a fitting side (the lens body side) relative to the first adhesive layer.
ONE-PIECE EYEWEAR ARTICLE
A one-piece, composite eyewear article including a frame having two temples, two eye wires, a bridge and two hinges, the entire frame composed of a single integral piece of cured liquid silicone rubber consisting of a liquid dimethyl polysiloxane polymer thermoset, a lens situated within the two eye wires and extending across the bridge, the lens composed of a single integral piece of optical grade cured liquid silicone rubber consisting of a liquid dimethyl polysiloxane polymer thermoset, and wherein the frame and lens are molded via a two-material molding process, such that the frame auto-adheres to the lens during curing.
Eyewear docking station and electronic module
An eyewear system including an eyewear frame and an application module. The eyewear frame including a docking station, and an electronic connector including a first set of preconfigured application connection points. The application module adapted to be mounted to the docking station, and including an electronic device configured to perform a function, and a second set of preconfigured application connection points corresponding to at least some of the first set of preconfigured application connection points. The second set of preconfigured application connection points including at least two different sub-function connections used to support the function of the electronic device.
