ENHANCED ARMLESS SPECTACLES
20200050016 · 2020-02-13 ·

This invention refers to armless spectacles made from a sheet of material that includes at least a second folding line in stabilisation means. The invention proposes several methods of ensuring the second line and offering even greater rigidity. The spectacles can be converted from a non-functional state into a functional assembled state suitable for use by manipulating the configuration of at least one stabilising means in the bridge area. The spectacles have an enhanced rigidity thus increasing the overall stability of the spectacles during use. They can be presented basically flat for storage or transport and be easily manipulated to achieve the configuration for use. The spectacles may further present enhanced fastening and handling means that increase fastening stability as well as easy placement and removal of the spectacles on and from the nose, which further enhances reliability during use.

Safety Eyewear for Reclining and Supine Positions

Safety eyewear that is particularly suitable for patients undergoing medical or dental procedures in reclining or supine positions is disclosed. The safety eyewear has a frame configured to rest over a face. The frame includes a pair of lenses separated from one another by a bridge. The lenses may be configured to block certain harmful wavelengths of light used in dental curing lights, patient overhead lights, and lasers. One of both of the frame and the pair of lenses may curve in a posterior direction along inferior edges so as to terminate closely proximate to the face. Left and right temple arms extend generally straight in the posterior direction from respective left and right sides of the frame. A nasion pad is coupled to the bridge of the frame and extends in the posterior direction from the bridge to make contact with the patient's nasion.

Slip-Resistant Eyewear System

A slip-resistant eyewear system comprising an eyewear frame generally comprises first and second hinges coupled to the eyewear frame which are also coupled to first and second tension adjusters. First and second bows are coupled to first and second tension adjusters. The system may comprise an eyewear retainer comprising a first end configured to couple to the first bow and a second end configured to couple to a second bow such that a tension is maintained on the unitary eyewear retainer when the unitary eyewear retainer extends around a back of a head of a user.

EYEWEAR WITH ADJUSTABLE STRAP
20200041812 · 2020-02-06 ·

Eyewear in the form of a pair of lenses and a pair of frame halves, each frame half supporting a lens. The frame halves are releasably connected to one another at the bridge between the lenses at their inner ends and the frame halves have frame half outer ends on opposite sides of said lenses from the bridge. The eyewear also includes first and second temples having temple first ends and temple second ends, the temple first ends being pivotally connected to the frame halves outer ends, each temple including a channel. The eyewear also includes a flexible strap having first and second flexible strap ends, to which are affixed first and second sliders, each slider affixed to one end of the flexible strap at the first and second flexible strap ends. The first slider is located within the channel of the first temple and sized to be slidably positioned along the channel of the first temple and the second slider is located within the channel of the second temple and sized to be adjustably positioned along the channel of the second temple such that movement of the sliders enables a user to selectively change the length of the flexible strap extending between the second ends of the first and second temples.

ROLL-UP AND SNAP-ON EYEWEAR
20200033628 · 2020-01-30 ·

Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to an eyewear device that is capable of being rolled-up and snapped onto a user's face. The eyewear includes an elongated body comprising a spring portion and a lens portion. The elongated body has at least three states: a straighten state, a coiled state and a partially coiled state. The eyewear is a layered film that is configured to roll into a cylindrical shape. The lens portion of the eyewear is then retained over the eyes of the user in response to the eyewear being attached to the sides of the user. In this regard, the eyewear includes one or more springs that coil immediately when struck against an object. When worn, the natural function of the spring allows the eyewear to be retained at the user's temples. Removing the eyewear allows the film to roll back to its coiled form.

Eyeglass holder
10537166 · 2020-01-21 · ·

A wearable eyeglass holder that holds a temple of a folded pair of eyeglasses in a manner that resists the inadvertent unfolding of the held temple and the wearer's loss of the eyeglasses. The eyeglass holder has a connector that enables it to be attached, in a pendulous manner, to the wearer's neck, clothing, or other object. The eyeglass holder has an oblong body with a double convex shape and a longitudinal inner channel with two oblong openings on the same face of the body. A temple of a pair of eyeglasses, inserted through the upper opening, comes to rest upon a waist extending between the openings. The eyeglasses rest on the waist and a foot of the body provides a second contact point with the temple that maintains it in a closed position.

Prosthetic lenses and methods of making the same

An optical device comprising a lens configured to be disposed in an eye. The lens is configured to contact a sclera of the eye and have a clearance above a cornea of the eye when disposed in the eye. The lens comprises a back surface that comprises at least one non-symmetrical feature that is configured to engage a corresponding feature on the eye. The lens is configured to be rotationally stable in use based on the at least one non-symmetrical feature on the back surface of the lens.

A principal objective of the present invention is to provide system for temperately retaining eyeglasses on a user's headwear. This objective is achieved by incorporating magnetic elements on the headwear and eyewear of the user. In one embodiment of the present invention, two magnetic elements are attached to the inside surfaces of the two temple arms of a pair of eyeglasses. Another two magnetic elements are attached to the two sides of a hat permanently or removably. The polarities of the magnetic elements are arranged in such way that when the two temple arms of the eyeglasses are placed in contact to the two sides of the hat from the outside of the hat, the magnetic elements on the eyeglasses and the magnetic elements on the headwear form magnetic element coupling pairs with attraction magnetic force. When the eyeglasses are not in use and need to be temporarily stored away from the eyes, the user can lift them to the crown or above the brim of the hat. The corresponding magnetic element coupling pairs will attach the temple arms of the eyeglasses to the side of the hat.
