The present disclosure relates to spectacles. The spectacles include a lens including a first portion and a second portion disposed opposite each other and a first cavity between the first portion and the second portion, a frame surrounding the lens and supporting the lens, a colored liquid disposed in the interior space, a first hydrophobic dielectric film disposed on an inner surface of the frame, a first electrode disposed between the inner surface of the frame and the first hydrophobic dielectric film, and a second electrode disposed in the interior space and in contact with the colored liquid. The frame has a second cavity defined by an inner surface of the frame. The second cavity is in communication with the first cavity to form an interior space.

PERSONAL SANITIZING DEVICE
20210322620 · 2021-10-21 ·

A personal sanitizing device includes an eyewear frame and one or more UV-C sources attached to a lower edge of the eyewear frame for directing UV-C energy in a downward direction from the eyewear frame. The one or more UV-C sources are configured for sanitizing air in proximity of a mouth and/or a nose of a wearer of the personal sanitizing device. The personal sanitizing device also includes a battery configured for powering the one or more UV-C sources.

EYE-WEAR KIT WITH MAGNETIC FRONT ATTACHMENT AND METHOD OF USE
20210325692 · 2021-10-21 ·

Eyewear or glasses with a frame having a frame front and two temples. Frame front has a bridge between two sides. At least one primary magnet is embedded in frame of eyeglasses. A length of material having a first side and a second side has at least one secondary magnet. Length of material is fixed to a larger object such that at least one secondary magnet is facing away from the object. To store one's glasses, the wearer places the frame of the glasses proximate primary magnet against a secondary magnet so that the glasses are held magnetically (by way of magnetic forces) to the length of material and, in turn, to the larger freestanding object. The glasses can be removed and stored in this manner repeatedly.

Headset for Illuminating Retroreflective Items

A headset for illuminating retroreflective items is disclosed herein. The headset is comprised of glasses, goggles, or other head-mounted assembly with light arrays mounted thereon. The lighting from the light arrays can be directed at a surface which illuminates when a light is directed at it, such as a retroreflective material. The present disclosure may advantageously be used with balls, articles of clothing, masks, paint, and numerous other items that may be covered, all or partially, with a retroreflective coating or layer, to create a unique user experience, particularly when the headset and retroreflective items are used in combination under low light or no light conditions.

Method and ophthalmic element for stimulating a non-visual physiological effect

A computed factor allows quantifying the efficiency of a light filter to stimulate a non-visual physiological effect which is responsive to light entering into a subject's eye. The efficiency factor is based on a spectral light transmittance of the filter over the wavelength visible range, on a spectral sensitivity profile of the non-visual physiological effect, and on a spectral distribution of the light which enters into the subject's eye without using the filter. Such efficiency factor is useful in particular for an ophthalmic element designed for stimulating a non-visual physiological effect which is based on melanopsin light-absorption.
