Stackable Eye Shields

A container having a stack of eye shields, includes a stack of eye shields having a plurality of eye shields stacked one on top of another. The stack of eye shields is in a sloped configuration in which ear pieces of frames of the eye shields are generally aligned with one another and disposed at an angle relative to horizontal of from about 10 to about 35 degrees. A container is provided having a horizontal bottom onto which the stack of eye shields is supported, the container having a top opposite the bottom, the top being sloped to be substantially parallel to the ear pieces of the eye shields of the stack of eye shields.

Devices and systems for treating pain based on light therapy

Devices and systems for treating based on light therapy are disclosed. One example device includes an eyewear configured for placement in front of an eye to allow light to reach the eye, and one or more filters having transmission spectra within a range that approximately spans 450 to 570 nm associated with blue or green light. The one or more filters is configured to block light spectra outside of said range and to allow the blue or green light to reach the eye for administering light therapy to a subject exhibiting pain.

Eyewear waveguide with reflector

Eyewear including a frame, a projector supported by the frame, and a lens supported by the frame. The lens has a first surface facing an eye of the user and a second surface facing away from the eye of the user when the frame is worn. The lens also includes a waveguide defined by the first and second surfaces to receive light from the projector. An input light coupler and an output light coupler are on the first surface of the lens and at least one reflector is positioned on a second surface of the lens to redirect light received from the input coupler and/or the output coupler to redirect light having an angle of incidence with respect to the second surface of the lens that would result in that portion of the light exiting the waveguide through the second surface in the absence of the at least one reflector.

Bio-based polycarbonate ester resin for eyeglass frame

A bio-based polycarbonate ester resin is environment friendly by not containing a bisphenol, and exhibits excellent heat resistance, transparency, strength, hardness, dimensional stability and chemical resistance. Thus, the bio-based polycarbonate ester resin is suitable for use in an eyeglass frame. In addition, various colors may be painted and coated on during post-processing, a separate additive is not required during a molding process, and processing is undergone at a temperature lower than that for conventional plastic materials for an eyeglass frame, and thus manufacturing costs may be reduced.

Button assembly and method of manufacturing thereof

A method of manufacturing a button-enabled housing assembly includes pre-forming a composite button component or insert having an elastically flexible button membrane that is mounted on a rigid frame, and thereafter molding a housing over the button insert. The composite button insert is formed in a co-molding operation and can include a rigid island in the flexible button membrane for supporting a cosmetic keycap.

A lens holding system for eyeglass frames having a pliable body with a lens opening for engagement of a lens therein and a circumferential edges configured to engage with a lens aperture of an eyewear frame to hold the lens operatively positioned therein. A front surface portion extending from the pliable body contacts a front surface of the eyeglass frame and is formed with a width narrower than a rear surface portion extending from the pliable body which contacts a rear facing surface of the eyewear frame. Significant comfort and performance enhancement is provided using a metal alloy frame in combination with polymeric temples.

Object recognition for improving interfaces on an eyewear device and other wearable and mobile devices
11598976 · 2023-03-07 · ·

A wearable or a mobile device includes a camera to capture an image of a scene with an unknown object. Execution of programming by a processor configures the device to perform functions, including a function to capture, via the camera, the image of the scene with the unknown object. To create lightweight human-machine user interactions, execution of programming by the processor further configures the device to determine a recognized object-based adjustment; and produce visible output to the user via the graphical user interface presented on the image display of the device based on the recognized object-based adjustment. Examples of recognized object-based adjustments include launch, hide, or display of an application for the user to interact with or utilize; display of a menu of applications related to the recognized object for execution; or enable or disable of a system level feature.

Eyewear with touch-sensitive input surface

In one embodiment, an eyewear for a user includes an eyewear frame, electrical circuitry at least partially in the eyewear frame, and a touch sensitive input surface on the eyewear frame configured to provide an input to the electrical circuitry to perform a function via touching the touch sensitive input surface. In another embodiment, the eyewear includes a switch with at least two operational states. The operational states of the switch can be configured to be changed by sliding a finger across the touch sensitive input surface of the frame.

Eyewear frame, an eyewear, and a method of adjusting an eyewear frame

An eyewear frame having at least one frame component including a stimuli-responsive polymer is provided. The at least one frame component has a physical property which is reversibly changeable in response to a stimulus of non-thermal origin applied to the stimuli-responsive polymer. An eyewear including the eyewear frame, and a method of adjusting the eyewear frame are also provided.
