EYEGLASS LENS WITH EYE-TRACKING COMPONENTS
An eye-tracking apparatus. At least one light source and a plurality of sensors are arranged at a periphery of a first surface of at least one lens. A frame is employed to hold the at least one lens. A processor coupled to the at least one light source and the plurality of sensors is configured to control the at least one light source to emit light towards the user's eye, control the plurality of sensors to sense reflections of the light off a surface of the user's eye, and process sensor data pertaining to the sensed reflections to determine a gaze direction of the user's eye.
NEAR-FIELD ANTENNA FOR EYEWEAR
Apparatuses and systems for wearable devices such as eyewear are described. According to one embodiment, the wearable device includes a frame, onboard electronics components, and an antenna disposed around an eyepiece area of the frame that is configured to hold an optical element. The antenna is configured for inductive coupling. In some embodiments, a switch coupled to the antenna allows selection between circuitry for inductive charging of a battery and near-field communication (NFC) circuitry for communicating data via the antenna.
HINGE OF THE FLEX TYPE FOR EYEGLASSES
A hinge of the flex type for eyeglasses, the hinge having an internally hollow central hinge body, adapted to be coupled to a second body, which is also internally hollow and is adapted to be coupled to an eyeglasses temple, and to a third body adapted to be coupled to the front of the eyeglasses. It is possible to assemble the central body and the second and third body in a pack, in order to define internally the passage of a data/power cable, the central body allowing an accumulation of the data/power cable and ensuring the passage of the cable between the temple and the front without stretching and/or torsion.
Eyewear Interface Assembly
An eyewear interface assembly for facilitating a hands-free interface with a personal electronic device includes a pair of eyeglasses that can be worn on a user for vision correction. The pair of eyeglasses includes a frame which comprises a pair of lens loops and a pair of arms each hingedly coupled to a respective lens loop. A pair of lenses is each positioned in a respective one of the lens loops and each of the lenses has a transparent display integrated therein to display indicia to the user. A transceiver is integrated into the pair of eyeglasses to receive an audio signal and a video signal from a personal electronic device. A pair of ear buds is each coupled to the pair of eyeglasses to be positioned in a respective one of the user's ears when the user wears the pair of eyeglasses.
Eyewear
Eyewear having: an optical module; an input unit; a sensing unit; a storage unit that stores at least conditions that change optical properties of the optical module; and a control unit that performs electric control of the optical module, in accordance with a set mode, by using electric control. The set modes include: a first mode in which the control unit electrically controls the optical module on the basis of a condition stored in the storage unit and a detection value for the sensing unit; and a second mode in which the control unit electrically controls the optical module on the basis of instructions received by the input unit. The conditions stored in the storage unit are updated on the basis of the detection value for the sensing unit when the input unit has received an instruction in the second mode.
Eyewear docking station and electronic module
An eyewear system including an eyewear frame and an application module. The eyewear frame including a docking station, and an electronic connector including a first set of preconfigured application connection points. The application module adapted to be mounted to the docking station, and including an electronic device configured to perform a function, and a second set of preconfigured application connection points corresponding to at least some of the first set of preconfigured application connection points. The second set of preconfigured application connection points including at least two different sub-function connections used to support the function of the electronic device.
EYEWEAR WITH WEARER NOTIFICATION
An eyewear device is disclosed including a frame, a temple connected to a lateral side of the frame, an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) to emit light patterns on an inner surface of the frame or the temple within a peripheral view of a wearer of the eyewear, a processor coupled to the eyewear device, and a memory accessible to the processor. The memory stores programming for execution by the processor and notification patterns corresponding to the LEDs. Execution of the programming configures the eyewear device to identify an event for presentation to the wearer, select a notification pattern corresponding to the identified event, and display the selected notification pattern to the wearer by selectively illuminating the LEDs.
EYEWEAR FRAME AS CHARGING CONTACT
Eyewear including a see-through display, a battery, and a frame forming at least one electrical contact for connection to a battery charger for battery charging. The electrical contact is large compared to the size of a battery charging contact to allow easy alignment. The frame may be tied to ground in one example, and to a positive potential in another example. In another example, the frame may be formed into a left portion that is electrically isolated from a right portion. The left portion has a contact coupled to a ground electrode of the battery and is configured to connect to a ground electrode of the battery charger. The right portion has a contact coupled to a positive electrode of the battery and is configured to connect to a positive potential of the battery charger.
