A disposable sleeve having an antimicrobial property for covering an arm of a pair of spectacles is presently disclosed. The disposable sleeve comprises a generally tubular body having an opening at least one end thereof for receiving the spectacle arm, and at least one antimicrobial agent containing component applied to a surface of the tubular body and/or dispersed therein to impart the antimicrobial property thereto.
Eyeglasses accessory for eyeglasses retention and associated methods
An accessory eyeglasses retention device is integrally formed as a single elastomeric piece to secure eyeglasses to a wearer's head. The accessory eyeglasses retention device may include an elongated body extending between a front end and a back end, an adjustment mechanism including a first elastic strap and a second elastic strap, for example, longitudinally spaced apart on the elongated body and configured to hold a temple of the eyeglasses and adjustably position the elongated body relative to the temple. An angled flap is at the back end of the elongated body, extending and angled in a direction towards a portion of the wearer's head when the eyeglasses are worn on the wearer's head, and configured to securely retain the eyeglasses in a desired location on the wearer's head. Also, a lanyard attachment feature may be included at the back end of the elongated body and configured to attach the elongated body to an eyeglasses lanyard.
Eyewear frame as charging contact
Eyewear including a see-through display, a battery, and a frame forming at least one electrical contact for connection to a battery charger for battery charging. The electrical contact is large compared to the size of a battery charging contact to allow easy alignment. The frame may be tied to ground in one example, and to a positive potential in another example. In another example, the frame may be formed into a left portion that is electrically isolated from a right portion. The left portion has a contact coupled to a ground electrode of the battery and is configured to connect to a ground electrode of the battery charger. The right portion has a contact coupled to a positive electrode of the battery and is configured to connect to a positive potential of the battery charger.
Facial interfaces for head-mounted displays and related systems and methods
A head-mounted display may include a frame for supporting an electronic display for viewing by an intended user donning the head-mounted display. The frame may include a flange disposed on a perimeter area of the frame and a facial interface configured to abut against an intended user's face wherein the facial interface comprises a foam body and an undercut region in the foam body that is sized and shaped for detachably engaging with the flange of the frame. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are also disclosed.
Electronic shutter for concealing and revealing a camera
The disclosed electronic shutter may include (1) an optical structure including a medium through which light from an environment passes to a lens of a camera for capturing an image of the environment; and (2) a controlling circuit that (a) detects a first condition of a signal, where the first condition indicates an activation of the camera, (b) controls, in response, to the first condition, the optical structure such that the medium attains a transparent optical state, (c) detects a second condition of the signal, where the second condition indicates a deactivation of the camera, and (d) controls, in response to the second condition, the optical structure such that the medium attains a non-transparent optical state in a manner that prevents visual detection of the lens from the environment. Various other methods and systems are also disclosed.
Eyewear with flexible audio and advanced functions
Eyewear providing flexible audio to a user. The eyewear includes a frame having two temple arms. The frame also has a front rim retaining two lenses. The eyewear also includes an open ear speaker for firing directional audio to an ear of a user, thereby providing semi-private audio to the user. The eyewear may include a wireless connection to another smart device or network.
