An image forming apparatus supplies, to an image carrying member, a toner to which a lubricant is externally added to form a toner image and transfers the toner image to a sheet transported to the image carrying member. The image forming apparatus includes a control portion that controls, when a toner patch is formed onto the image carrying member in a part corresponding to a region between the sheets transported continuously, the drawing of the toner patch based on coverage information of the toner image transferred to the sheet transported in a predetermined period.

A positional deviation correction pattern includes a first and second pattern image portions adjacent in a sub-scanning direction at the same position in a main-scanning direction, with the same width in the main-scanning direction. Each image portion includes a first side extending in the sub-scanning direction, a second side continuing from one end of the first side and extending in a direction intersecting the sub-scanning direction, and a third side continuing from the other end and extending in a direction intersecting both the sub-scanning direction and the second side. The second sides have the same inclination angle to a virtual line parallel to the main-scanning direction. The third sides have the same inclination angle to the virtual line. A length of one image portion in the sub-scanning direction gradually increases from one end to the other end in the main-scanning direction, a length of the other image portion gradually decreases.

An MFP that accepts instructions to execute jobs includes, and takes holding units that hold sheets that can be subjected to binding processing specified by a job, where the holding units are considered search targets in an automatic selection process. The MFP performs auto paper selection on the holding units as the search targets, and if there is a candidate holding unit, feeds sheets to be used for printing from the holding unit and performs printing.

The image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a post-processing apparatus, wherein the image forming apparatus has a fixing unit configured to heat and press a recording sheet with a transferred toner image to fix the toner image to the recording sheet, and the post-processing apparatus has a humidifying unit configured to humidify the recording sheet with the toner image fixed by the fixing unit, and a voltage applying unit configured to apply a bias voltage to the recording sheet humidified by the humidifying unit.

An image forming apparatus including: a light irradiating unit configured to irradiate a photosensitive member charged by a charging unit with light to form an electrostatic latent image; a processing unit configured to generate M-bit (M is an integer not less than 2) density data indicating a density based on the input image data, to generate (M+N)-bit processing data based on the M-bit density data and N-bit (N is an integer not less than 1) correction data, to convert the processing data into a plural-bit binary drive data corresponding to a value of the processing data, and to serially output the plural-bit drive data bit by bit to generate a drive signal; and a drive unit configured to drive the light irradiating unit based on the drive signal.

An image forming apparatus includes a main body of the image forming apparatus with an opening portion, an image forming unit, an accommodation portion, a stack portion, a sheet moving unit, and a control unit that controls switching between a first mode that moves, with the sheet moving unit, a sheet accommodated in the accommodation portion and stops the sheet when a part of the sheet is exposed external to the main body of the image forming apparatus from the opening portion, and a second mode that moves the sheet, with the sheet moving unit, accommodated in the accommodation portion and that discharges the sheet to the stack portion.

A roll excellent in abrasion resistance, which contains: a resin layer containing a first atom group having a plurality of sulfur atoms, a plurality of second atom groups having a carbon chain that has a plurality of carbon atoms arranged in a line and has an end bonded to any one of the plurality of sulfur atoms, and a plurality of third atom groups each of which has a urethane bond and is bonded to any one of the plurality of second atom groups; and a cylindrical foamed resin having an outer surface covered with the resin layer.

A method for manufacturing the photoreceptor and an electrophotographic device including the photoreceptor are additionally provided. The electrophotographic photoreceptor provides sufficient stain resistance and is less affected by temperature and humidity environments while maintaining various advantageous characteristics of photoreceptors.

In a case where conveyance abnormality of a sheet has occurred on a conveyance passage in course of execution of a print job which uses sheets included in a sheet set including a plurality of sheets with sequentiality stored in a first sheet feed tray and discharges a sheet having been subjected to image formation to a first discharge section of the plurality of discharge sections, conveyance of a causal sheet having caused the conveyance abnormality is stopped, and sheets having been being conveyed on the conveyance passage on an upstream side than the causal sheet are discharged to other discharge section other than the first discharge section. Thereafter, continuously, sheets located before a sheet to be fed first at a time of performing recovery printing after elimination of conveyance abnormality, are fed from the first sheet feed tray, and discharged the sheets to the other discharge section.

An image formation device for executing a printing job to form a toner image on a record sheet includes: an operation panel configured to move between a first position at which the operation panel protrudes from a front of a device body and a second position at which the operation panel is retracted to a device body side with respect to the first position; an acquisition device configured to obtain state information indicating a state of the device body; and a hardware processor configured to determine, based on the obtained state information, whether the state of the device body is a state requiring a user access to the device body or a state of accessing to the device body and to retract the operation panel to the second position when a determination result is positive.
