The control unit is configured to apply a first application amount of varnish to the recording material per unit area in a case of executing the image forming job for forming a varnish layer on a recording material having a first grammage, and is configured to apply a second application amount of varnish to the recording material per unit area in a case of executing the image forming job for forming the varnish layer on a recording material having a second grammage smaller than the first grammage, the second application amount being larger than the first application amount.

An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image bearers, a plurality of optical writing devices, a plurality of image forming units, and circuitry. The plurality of optical writing devices scan and irradiate the plurality of image bearers with a plurality of light beams according to image data to form latent images on the plurality of image bearers. The plurality of image forming units develop the latent images formed on the plurality of image bearers. The circuitry changes scanning speeds of the plurality of light beams and sets, to each of the plurality of optical writing devices, a correction value of an image misregistration on corresponding one of the plurality of image bearers caused by a change of a scanning speed of corresponding one of the plurality of light beams.
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A management system includes a plurality of image forming apparatuses and a management apparatus connectable to a device of each image forming apparatus via a network. The management system includes a detection unit that detects a condition of the image forming apparatus, a storage unit that stores condition information acquired by the detection unit detecting the condition, a transmission unit that transmits the condition information stored in the storage unit to the management apparatus, and a display unit that displays information. The display unit displays, on a same screen, data calculated from pieces of condition information of the plurality of image forming apparatuses transmitted to the management apparatus, and the condition information stored in the storage unit.

An intermediate unit includes a transportation path provided with a drying unit that accelerates the drying of the medium. The first branch path and the second branch path which branch off at a branch point from the inlet path. The first junction path and the second junction path and the outlet path join each other at a junction point. The first branch path and the first junction path and the first inversion path join each other at a first connection point. The second branch path and the second junction path and the second inversion path join each other at a second connection point.

An image forming apparatus including: a sheet feeding roller which feeds a sheet accumulated on a tray; and a hardware processor which: detects a movement speed of the sheet currently fed by the sheet feeding roller; and calculates a difference amount between the movement speed and a first reference speed, and determines a life of the sheet feeding roller based on the difference amount, wherein the hardware processor determines whether or not to use the movement speed of a first sheet for life determination based on a relationship between the movement speed of the first sheet and the movement speed of a sheet fed before the first sheet, and if the hardware processor determines not to use the movement speed of the first sheet for the life determination, the hardware processor calculates the difference amount by excluding the movement speed of the first sheet.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion including a photosensitive member and a developing portion configured to develop, with toner, an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive member, the image forming portion being configured to form an image on the sheet, a first frame including an upper space supporting the image forming portion and a lower space under the upper space, an accommodating portion configured to accommodate the sheet, a feeding portion configured to feed the sheet accommodated in the accommodating portion, and a supply container configured to contain the toner to be supplied to the developing portion of the image forming portion. The accommodating portion and the feeding portion are provided in the lower space and, alternatively, the supply container is provided in the lower space together with a second frame which is mountable to a lower portion of the first frame.

A sheet supporting apparatus includes a sheet supporting unit having a sheet supporting portion including a supporting surface on which a sheet is supported, and a first engagement unit attached to the sheet supporting portion, and a second engagement unit to draw in the sheet supporting unit toward an attaching position where the sheet supporting unit is attached to an apparatus body. The first engagement unit includes a first engagement portion, a base portion supported by the sheet supporting portion, and a holder that is supported movably in a perpendicular direction perpendicular to the supporting surface by the base portion and configured to hold the first engagement portion. The base portion supports the holder swingably around a swing shaft that extends in a direction orthogonal to both the perpendicular direction and an inserting direction in which the sheet supporting unit is inserted.

An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, a developer bearing member, a driving unit, a latent image forming unit that forms an electrostatic image having light area potential and a dark area potential, and an application unit that applies a developing bias. The driving unit drives the image bearing member and the developer bearing member in a first peripheral speed ratio and a second peripheral speed ratio larger than the first peripheral speed ratio. The image forming apparatus further includes an acquiring unit acquiring information related to a change in an electrostatic capacitance of the image bearing member and a determining unit determining a developing contrast according to the electrostatic capacitance. The determining unit determines the developing contrast based on the acquired information when the driving unit drives the image bearing member and the developer bearing member in the second peripheral speed ratio.
