LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE, OPTICAL MEASUREMENT APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A light emitting device includes: a member having a first surface facing in one direction and a second surface facing an opposite side to the first surface; a light emitter that is disposed at the first surface, generates heat due to light emission, and has a lower stiffness than the member; and a heater that is disposed at the second surface of the member, and heats the member from the second surface.
DETECTION DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
A detection device includes a first detection unit that detects a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion of a medium before the medium is heated, and a second detection unit that differs from the first detection unit and that detects the leading edge portion and the trailing edge portion of the medium after the medium is heated.
DETECTION DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
A detection device includes a transport passage along which a medium is transported and a detection unit that detects a leading edge portion and a trailing edge portion of the medium in the transport passage while transportation of the medium is stopped and while the medium is pulled in a pulling direction along the transport passage.
DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
A device includes an operating portion, a switch and a controller. The device is operable in a first mode in which a predetermined operation is executed and in a second mode of which power consumption is reduced rather than in the first mode, and operates in a state connected to an image forming apparatus. The operating portion operates by an AC voltage supplied from an external power source. The switch supplies the AC voltage to the operating portion in a conductive state and cuts off supply of the AC voltage to the operating portion in a non-conductive state. The controller operates by a DC voltage generated from the AC voltage by a power source provided in the image forming apparatus. The controller controls to cause the switch to be in the non-conductive state so as to stop operation of the operating portion when the device shifts from the first mode to the second mode.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, COMPONENT UNIT OF THE IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND PROCESSING APPARATUS FOR THE COMPONENT UNIT
An image forming apparatus configured to perform image formation using a component unit configured to be attachable to and detachable from a main body of the image forming apparatus is provided. The image forming apparatus includes: an access unit configured to access a storage device included in the component unit attached to the main body; and a control unit configured to control the access unit to read and update information stored in the storage device. The storage device includes a first area and a second area configured to store use information indicating a use state of the component unit, and updating of the use information stored in the first area by the control unit is configured such that updating only within a predetermined limit is permitted, and no limit is provided on updating of the use information stored in the second area.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a heating rotary member that heats toner born on a recording material, and a pressure rotary member that pressurizes the heating rotary member. These rotary members form a fixing nip portion and fix a toner image to the recording material at the fixing nip portion while nipping and conveying the recording material. The apparatus further includes a web that collects toner adhering to a surface of the heating rotary member, a winding roller that winds the web, a motor that rotates the winding roller, a contact member that makes contact with an outer surface of the wound web and moves based on a position of the outer surface, a variable resistor that is connected to change a resistance value depending on a position of the contact member, and a control unit that controls a rotation amount of the motor based on the resistance value.
IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image forming system includes the following. An image former forms an image on a recording medium. A laminator performs lamination in which a film is laminated on a surface of the recording medium on which the image is formed by the image former. A hardware processor obtains information regarding image forming by the image former and that determines a condition of the lamination by the laminator based on the obtained information regarding the image forming.
MEDIUM THICKNESS DETECTION MECHANISM
A thickness detection mechanism arranged in a scanner or printer for measuring the thickness of mediums fed through the scanner or printer, which comprising: a conveyor section; at least a idle roller set arranged above the conveyor section, which includes at least a shaft and an idle roller pivotally arranged on the shaft; at least an elastic portion arranged above the shaft; and at least a pressure sensor secured on the elastic portion; wherein the thickness detection mechanism measures the thickness of the medium by measuring the pressure applied on the pressure sensor by the idle roller set as the idle roller set being pushed upward, and thus avoids the medium too thin or too thick to enter the scanner or the printer.
ORGANIC PHOTOCONDUCTOR DRUM HAVING AN OVERCOAT CONTAINING NANO METAL OXIDE PARTICLES AND ACRYL-FUNCTIONAL PDMS
An improved overcoat layer for an organic photoconductor drum of an electrophotographic image forming device is provided. The overcoat layer is prepared from a curable composition including a crosslinkable siloxane, nano metal oxide particles sized less than 400 nm in combination with a urethane acrylate resin having at least 6 functional groups. The outermost layer of an organic photoconductors is coated with the overcoat formulation of the present invention then cured. The resulting cured overcoated organic photoconductor has improved wear resistance and importantly does not negatively altering the electrophotographic properties of the organic photoconductor.
RECORDING MEDIUM TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A recording medium transport device includes: a circulating member that forms a part of a transport path for transporting a recording medium; a holding member that is fixed to the circulating member and thereby circulates and holds a front end portion of the recording medium; plural transport cylinders around which the circulating member is suspended and having a recessed part in which the holding member is stored; and a selection part that selects any one of the plural transport cylinders. A mode for stopping the selected one of the plural transport cylinders so that the recessed part of the selected one of the plural transport cylinders is located at a maintenance position is prepared.
