The plurality of electrode pads in the plurality of rows includes a first electrode pad in a row of the plurality of rows closest to the second long side and having a larger area than a second electrode pad in another row of the plurality of rows.
CAPACITANCE BASED PAPER DETECTION
An image forming apparatus includes a print engine to form an image on recording medium, a sensor including first and second electrodes disposed to oppose each other based on a recording medium transport path, along which the recording medium is transported, and to detect a capacitance between the first and second electrodes, and a processor to determine a state of the recording medium fed along the recording medium transport path by using the capacitance detected by the sensor and to control the print engine based on the state of the recording medium.
Diagnostic device, computer program, and diagnostic system
A diagnostic device includes a reception unit and a determination unit. The reception unit is configured to receive context information and sensing information. The context information corresponds to a certain operation of a target item that constitutes a target device. The context information is a piece of a plurality of pieces of context information each describing an operation of the target item determined depending on a type of operation of the target device. The sensing information is on a physical quantity that varies in accordance with the operation of the target item. The determination unit is configured to determine a state of the target item based on the sensing information detected while the target item is performing the certain operation, and based on a model corresponding to the received context information. The model is a model of one or more models respectively defined for one or more pieces of the context information.

ROTATOR DRIVER, HEATING DEVICE, FIXING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A rotator driver includes an endless rotator having an end face in a longitudinal direction thereof. A slide aid contacts an inner circumferential face of the endless rotator. A lubricant is applied between the slide aid and the inner circumferential face of the endless rotator. An end face contact member contacts the end face of the endless rotator and has an end face opposed face contacting the end face of the endless rotator and an opposite face being opposite to the end face opposed face. A helical gear is mounted on the opposite face of the end face contact member. The helical gear has teeth being oriented to generate a force that moves the end face contact member toward the end face of the endless rotator as the helical gear rotates. The helical gear has an outer diameter being not greater than an outer diameter of the endless rotator.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit comprising: a photosensitive member configured to rotate; a charging unit configured to charge the photosensitive member based on a charging bias; an exposure unit configured to expose the photosensitive member charged by the charging unit with laser light to form an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member; and a developing device configured to develop the electrostatic latent image based on a development bias to form an image on the photosensitive member, a reading unit configured to read a test image formed by the image forming unit, and a controller configured to: control the image forming unit to form the test image; control the reading unit to read the test image.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a reading device, and processing circuitry. The image forming device forms a first image on a first face of a recording medium and form a second image on a second face of the recording medium. The first face and the second face are on opposite sides of the recording medium. The reading device detects a shape of the recording medium. The processing circuitry corrects the second image to be formed on the second face of the recording medium with respect to the first image formed on the first face of the recording medium based on the shape of the recording medium.
RECORDING MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A recording medium processing apparatus includes first teeth that are used for binding processing of a recording medium bundle; second teeth that move toward the first teeth and press the recording medium bundle located between the first teeth and the second teeth; and a control unit that moves the second teeth toward the first teeth to press the second teeth against the first teeth in a state in which there is no recording medium bundle between the first teeth and the second teeth.
