The replenishment empty history recording portion records replenishment empty history information to a storage device in correspondence with one of the plurality of developer containers in which a replenishment empty state was detected in a first attachment portion. When a preview setting is enabled, after performing the converting, the preview image is displayed on the display and the raising is performed after the displaying and in response to an execution instruction of the forming. When the preview setting is not enabled, after performing a pre-heating of the fixing device so that the temperature of the fixing device is lower than the fixing temperature, performing the raising without displaying the preview image.

An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device including a fixing device frame, a chute rotatable between a path forming position and a path opening position, an optical sensor including a light-emitting element, and an actuator. The actuator has a shaft, a first lever configured to contact an anti-pivot rib, and a second lever configured to shield light emitted from the light-emitting element. When performing recording on the medium in accordance with recording data for recording a plurality of types of recording materials in a same region on the medium, the control unit identifies a first recording material with a relatively high recording density in the same region, and a second recording material with a lower recording density in the same region than that of the first recording material, based on recording data, and the control unit performs recording such that a second region in which recording is performed with the second recording material corresponding to the same region is smaller than a first region in which recording is performed with the first recording material corresponding to the same region.
