A beverage-making machine includes: a housing; a fluid reservoir mounted to the housing; a pump fluidly connected with the water reservoir; a heating unit; and a brew station having an outlet; wherein the fluid reservoir, the pump, the heating unit and the brew station define a fluid path. The beverage-making machine further comprises a controller configured to: (a) detect performance of a pre-brewing action, and in response initiate preheating of the heating unit; then (b) detect performance of a brew activation action, and in response activate the pump to convey fluid from the fluid reservoir along the fluid path to the outlet of the brew station to prepare a brewed beverage.

Cooking Appliance, Method and System

A cooking appliance generates a recipe based on detected weights of multiple ingredients and receives a parameter for cooking the food. In another aspect, the cooking appliance can receive a recipe defining a process for cooking food and an amount of at least a first ingredient in the recipe for the food. Based on the recipe and the amount of the first ingredient added to the container, the cooking appliance generates a wirelessly output instruction for cooking the food. In another aspect, a processor of the cooking appliance detects a physical state of the cooking appliance responsive to an electrical signal and applies a setting to the cooking appliance to cook the food. The cooking appliance can include an LED gauge including multiple LEDs. The processor can selectively turn on one or more of the LEDs based on the set parameter value of the cooking appliance.

OPERATING A DOMESTIC STEAM-TREATMENT APPLIANCE, AND DOMESTIC STEAM-TREATMENT APPLIANCE

In a method for operating a household steam treatment appliance which includes an evaporator with a heatable water holding chamber and a fill level sensor with at least two measurement electrodes, which are disposed over one another at a distance from each other in the heatable water holding chamber, a water detection measured value provided for indicating wetting of the at least two measurement electrodes with water introduced into the water holding chamber is adapted in an adaptation process to an electrical conductivity of the water in the water holding chamber.

Pressure sensor overflow interlock system for beverage maker

A beverage maker device is disclosed. In embodiments, the device includes an external housing and a water tank coupled to a water supply via an inlet. The beverage maker includes a manifold within the housing, the manifold controlling the dispensing of the water into a server or through a faucet via solenoid valves. The beverage maker includes a pressure transducer coupled to the inlet and capable of sensing a flow pressure of the water through the inlet, sending a pressure signal to the beverage maker control circuitry based on the determined flow pressure. The control circuitry receives the pressure signal and determines a flow volume of the water through the inlet based on the flow pressure; if the flow volume reaches a flow threshold, the control circuitry cuts off the flow of water via the solenoid valves.

Steam cooking device

A steam cooking device which includes a pressure accumulating steam boiler and a steaming cabinet is disclosed. The pressure accumulating steam boiler heats liquid water and accumulates a steam having a pressure between 1.1 and 5.0 times atmospheric pressure. The steaming cabinet receives the steam from the pressure accumulating steam boiler to cook a foodstuff contained therein. To raise the temperature of a foodstuff accommodating chamber within the steaming cabinet from a room temperature to a cooking temperature, a WH1 amount of energy is consumed by an electricity-heat conversion unit in the pressure accumulating steam boiler. A foodstuff accommodating chamber within the steaming cabinet has a volume of V1. The steam cooking device satisfies V1/WH1>160. The cooking temperature is between 101° C. and 150° C. and is lower than or equal to the temperature of the steam when the steam is outputted from the pressure accumulating steam boiler.

LIQUID HEATING APPLIANCES

A liquid heating appliance including a reservoir including a first and second chambers and a heating arrangement is provided. A mode valve is arranged to selectively allow liquid to flow between the first and second chambers. The appliance operates in a first mode in which the mode valve is closed and only liquid in the first chamber is heated and a second mode in which the mode valve is open and liquid in the first and second chambers is heated. A dispense outlet is moveable between a dispensing position and a non-dispensing position. The dispense outlet is mechanically coupled to the mode valve such that when the dispense outlet is moved into the dispense position, the mechanical coupling closes the mode valve and when the dispense outlet is moved into the non-dispensing position, the mechanical coupling opens the valve.

Multi-bank cooking system

A multi-bank cooking system includes multiple discrete cooking systems sharing common plumbing and integrated safety features. The multi-bank cooking system may include two or more rack-fryer systems, each with discrete frypots, operating mechanisms and cooking controllers. Each of the discrete cooking systems, may share a common plumbing system with integrated valves and controls receiving coordinated safety signals to facilitate safe and efficient operation of the system.
