A process for producing a part provided with an external element includes: providing an electrically conductive substrate having an upper surface and a raised pattern with a crest on the upper surface; depositing an electrically insulating layer onto the upper surface around the pattern to a thickness less than or equal to the distance between the crest and the upper surface; depositing a metal layer onto the crest by galvanic growth so that the metal layer partly rests on the insulating layer; dissolving the insulating layer; covering an assembly including the substrate and the metal layer with a mass of a base material of the part to form an imprint; separating the mass and the metal layer from the substrate, the mass then exhibiting an external element formed by a recess, the shape of which corresponds to the imprint and the base of which interfaces with the metal layer.

A decorative article has a substrate of which at least part of the surface is configured with Ti or stainless steel; and a coating made of primarily TiC and disposed on the substrate. The coating has at least a first region, and a second region disposed closer to the substrate than the first region. The elastic modulus of the second region is greater than the elastic modulus of the first region.

The method for manufacturing a horological component (1) having at least one portion having a surface (11), in particular a top surface, includes: engraving (E3) the surface (11) of the horological component (1) or of a blank (1a) of the horological component (1) to form at least one cavity (7); depositing (E7) a metal or metal alloy layer (22) on the surface (11), both in the at least one cavity (7) and outside of the at least one cavity (7); and engraving a material (E4) on the metal or metal alloy layer (22), at least within the at least one cavity (7), to form a layer of material (8), this material being different from the metal or the metal alloy of the metal or metal alloy layer (22), and forming an adhesion layer of the layer of material (8).
Variable-geometry timepiece display mechanism with resilient hand
A variable timepiece display mechanism includes a resilient hand with a drive pipe integral with a single-piece flexible strip including flexible segments joined at tips, a first segment thereof extends between the first pipe and a first tip. The mechanism also includes a driver for driving the pivoting of the pipe, and a stressor for stressing the first flexible segment in order to vary the position of the first tip relative to the output axis, as a function of the forces applied to the flexible strip. The drier and/or the stressor includes a first shaped gear train and/or a second shaped gear train in order to accelerate, stabilize the speed of, or slow at least the pipe over a part of the angular travel thereof.
