A watch includes a chargeable power supply, a crystal oscillation circuit including a crystal oscillator and an oscillation circuit and configured to stop oscillating when a power supply voltage falls below an oscillation stop voltage and to start oscillating when the power supply voltage exceeds an oscillation start voltage, which is higher than the oscillation stop voltage, and a divider circuit that outputs a reference signal by dividing an oscillation signal output from the oscillation circuit. The watch also includes a temperature compensation circuit that performs a temperature compensation function operation that compensates for variation of the reference signal due to a temperature, a first voltage detection circuit that detects that the power supply voltage exceeded a first voltage that is set higher than the oscillation start voltage, and a control circuit that starts the temperature compensation function operation of the temperature compensation circuit when the first voltage detection circuit detects that the power supply voltage exceeded the first voltage, and subsequently continues the temperature compensation function operation even when the power supply voltage falls below the first voltage.

Skeleton watch including a movement independent of the case middle

A skeleton watch includes a case middle which defines an interior space, a crystal and a back cover fixed to the case middle on either side of the middle to enclose the interior space, and a movement. The movement includes an openworked frame having a front face and a back face, the frame including an outer perimeter formed by two side positions, a top bar that connects between upper ends of the side posts, and a lower platform connected to lower ends of the side posts. The frame includes a central island positioned within the outer perimeter. The movement also includes a minute hand and an hour hand mounted on a central arbor integral with the frame. The movement also includes a motor having an electromagnet that extends outside of the outer perimeter of the frame in a radial direction from the central arbor.

Crown assembly for watches
10852697 · 2020-12-01 · ·

A watch can include one or more input components, such as a crown for receiving input from a user. The crown can be an assembly of multiple parts, for example, to provide aesthetic, structural, and/or functional attributes. The parts of the crown can be assembled in a manner that resists separation during use and when subject to environmental influences. For example, the assembled parts of a crown can be resistant to separation while a user wearing the watch is swimming, bathing, or sweating. The assembly can be secured by both mechanical mechanisms and chemical mechanisms.

Compressible seal for rotatable and translatable input mechanisms
10845764 · 2020-11-24 · ·

An electronic device has a housing and a rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The housing has an aperture and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism has a shaft positioned at least partially within the aperture and a manipulation structure coupled to the shaft. The manipulation structure may be manipulated to rotationally and translationally move the shaft to provide rotational and translational input to the electronic device. A compressible seal is positioned in a gap between the housing and the rotatable and translatable input mechanism. The compressible seal may resist and/or prevent passage of contaminants into the aperture and/or obscure one or more internal components. The compressible seal may be configured to collapse or bend when the rotatable and translatable member translates.
