Interacting with an electronic device through physical movement

The present disclosure generally relates to interacting with an electronic device without touching a display screen or other physical input mechanisms. In some examples, the electronic device performs an operation in response to a positioning of a user's hand and/or an orientation of the electronic device.

An electronic watch includes an including a package in which an oscillator and a watch control integrated circuit are housed, a circuit board having an elastic function, the circuit board including a first face and a second face, a first member provided with a plurality of first protrusions, and a second member provided with a second protrusion facing the first protrusion with the circuit board interposed therebetween, in which a plurality of clamping positions are clamped between the first protrusion and the second protrusion, A1>P1>A2>0, where A1 is a length of the first protrusion, A2 is a length of the second protrusion, and P1 is a thickness of the oscillation device.

Electromechanical watch

An electromechanical watch including an electromechanical motor (4) mechanically coupled to an analogue display (AD) and formed by two coils (B1, B2) through which the magnetic circuit (10) of the stator passes. A first of the two coils is connected to a voltage detection circuit (CD1, CD2) arranged to be able to detect any voltage induced in this first coil during intervals of time occurring, in a stepping functioning mode of the motor, between drive pulses to detect whether an unwanted step is made by the rotor (18) during these intervals of time. The electromechanical watch includes at least one switch (T1, T2, T3) that is controlled by an electronic control circuit (CEC) to short-circuit the second coil during each of said intervals of time, in order to passively hold the rotor in the idle position in which it is situated momentarily between the drive pulses.

FORCE-DETECTING INPUT STRUCTURE

An input mechanism, such as a crown, detects amounts of applied force. In various examples, an assembly including an input mechanism has an enclosure; a stem coupled to the enclosure such that the stem is rotatable, translatable, and transversely moveable with respect to the enclosure; a sensor, coupled between the stem and the housing, to which force is transferred when the stem moves with respect to the housing; and a processing unit coupled to the sensor. The processing unit is operable to determine a measurement of the force, based on a signal from the sensor.

Capacitive touch or proximity detection for crown

An electronic device is disclosed. In some examples, the electronic device comprises a rotatable mechanical input mechanism. In some examples, the electronic device comprises sense electrode positioned proximate to the mechanical input mechanism. In some examples, the electronic device comprises a capacitive sense circuit comprising drive circuity operatively coupled to the mechanical input mechanism and configured for driving a drive signal onto the mechanical input mechanism. In some examples, the electronic device comprises a capacitive sense circuit comprising sense circuitry operatively coupled to the sense electrode and configured to measure an amount of coupling between the rotatable mechanical input mechanism and the sense electrode. In some examples, the electronic device comprises a housing, wherein the sense electrode is included in a gasket for connecting a display to the housing.

WATCH PROVIDED WITH A CONTROL MEMBER

A watch includes a control member, for example a crown or a head of a push-piece, which is mounted in a resilient manner on the outer end of an elongated element projecting outside the middle, such that a user can tilt in a self-reverting manner the control member in two dimensions orthogonal and perpendicular to the central axis of the elongated element. At least one proximity sensor is incorporated into the middle of the watch, in a location allowing this proximity sensor to produce an electric signal that represents the tilting of the control member about an axis that is perpendicular to the central axis. A processor generates at least one instruction on the basis of the electric signal provided by at least one proximity sensor, for example to allow the user to browse a menu or a calendar displayed on a digital screen.

WATCH PROVIDED WITH A CONTROL MEMBER

A watch including a control member that is able to manage at least one first function of the watch and at the same time to control one or more additional electronic functions. The control member, for example a crown or a push-piece head, is mounted on the elongate element defining a central axis and passing through a wall of the watch middle. At least one strain gauge is mounted around the elongate element and arranged so as to produce an electrical signal representing a radial force exerted by the elongate element on the strain gauge when a user laterally exerts a force on the control member. A processor generates at least one command on the basis of the electrical signal, for example to enable the user to navigate in a menu or a calendar displayed on a digital screen.

POINTER DISPLAY APPARATUS AND POINTER OPERATION CONTROL METHOD
