Wearable Electronic Device with Electrodes for Sensing Biological Parameters
An electronic device, such as a watch, has a housing to which a carrier is attached. The carrier has a first surface interior to the electronic device, and a second surface exterior to the electronic device. A set of electrodes is deposited on the exterior surface of the carrier. An additional electrode is operable to be contacted by a finger of a user of the electronic device while the first electrode is positioned against skin of the user. The additional electrode may be positioned on a user-rotatable crown of the electronic device, on a button of the electronic device, or on another surface of the housing of the electronic device. A processor of the electronic device is operable to determine a biological parameter of the user based on voltages at the electrodes. The biological parameter may be an electrocardiogram.
Identification of watch bands
A watch can include a watch body and a band for securing the watch to the user. The watch body can detect an identification of the band or combination of band portions, which can serve as an input to initiate actions performed by the watch body. For example, a type, model, color, size, or other characteristic of a band can be determined and used to select a corresponding action performed by the watch body. Identification of the band can be performed by components of the watch body that also serve other purposes. The watch body can respond to the identification of a particular band by performing particular functions, such as changing an aspect of a user interface or altering settings of the watch body.
Digital display device comprising two superimposed display cells and timepiece comprising such a display device
A digital display device including, from top to bottom, a first red filter, a transflective liquid crystal display cell, a second red filter and an emissive display cell, the transflective liquid crystal display cell displaying information using at least one first seven-segment digit and the emissive display cell providing a plurality of juxtaposed light points which are arranged so as to provide a display formed by at least one second seven-segment digit.
SMART WATCH WITH FLEXIBLE DISPLAY PANEL
A smart watch includes a watch strap and a flexible display panel. The first end of the flexible display panel is attached to the watch strap, and the second end of the flexible display panel is a free end. The flexible display panel has a bent state and a flattened state. When the flexible display panel is in the bent state, the flexible display panel and the watch strap are bent together and the flexible display panel is located on and in contact with an outer surface of the watch strap. When the flexible display panel is in the flattened state, the second end of the flexible display panel is out of contact with the outer surface of the watch strap and the flexible display panel is flattened in the same plane.

Active lighting device to be worn on a person's wrist
An active lighting device is placed on a person's wrist to light a path that the person is taking. The device is preferably in the form of a wristwatch. The device includes first light sources, which are controlled by a control unit. The first light sources are placed on a portion of a case. Each first light source activated by the control unit can produce a light beam of different orientation from another first light source activated by the control unit. The device further includes a motion sensor connected to the control unit to determine the wrist movement of the person wearing the device in order to allow the control unit to select certain first light sources to be activated depending on the person's wrist movement in order to light the path to be followed in the same defined forward direction.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RENDERING A NAVIGATIONAL DIRECTION TO A USER
In an embodiment, the method for rendering the navigational direction to the user, the method comprising the steps of: determining location based information of a destination station; computing a current location of the user and a navigational direction toward the destination station from the current location of the user; selecting at least one mode of operation of a watch, wherein the at least one mode of operation includes rendering a navigational direction to the destination station on a watch dial; rendering a plurality of indicators within at least an inner area of the watch dial and an outer periphery of the watch dial; and rendering a pointer on the watch dial indicating the navigational direction to the user.
Display device and electronic watch including the same
A display device includes a substrate having a through-hole. The display device also includes a display unit formed on the substrate and surrounding the through-hole, and the display unit is configured to display an image and includes pixels.
Object provided with an electro-optic display device
An object includes an electro-optic display device provided with an optically active element having optical properties that can be modified by applying an electric voltage. The object further includes a frame which delimits an opening wherein the electro-optic display device is arranged. The object also includes an external electronic power and control device and elements for the electrical connection of the electro-optic display device to the external electronic power and control device, which are hidden by the frame of the object. The electro-optic display device defines an opaque active display area having a surface area that is less than the surface area of the opening, such that, even when the electro-optic display device is activated and displaying information, a transparent area remains between the active display area and the edges of the frame, whereas an area located beneath the active display area is hidden.
