Method of wearable device displaying icons, and wearable device for performing the same

A method of a wearable device displaying icons is provided. The method includes displaying a plurality of circular icons comprising a first circular icon located in a center area of a touch display in a first size and a second circular icon located outside of the center area of the touch display in a second size smaller than the first size, and based on a direction of a touch input received on the touch display, moving the plurality of circular icons such that the first circular icon is moved to a first position located outside of the center area of the touch display and the second circular icon is moved from a second position located outside the center area of the touch display to the center area of the touch display and enlarged in size from the second size to the first size.

AUTOMATIC TIME ZONE DETECTION IN DEVICES

Methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer program products are provided for enabling devices to determine the time zone in which they are located. A mobile device may receive location information from one or more sources. Based thereon, the current location of the mobile device may be determined in terms of latitude and longitude. The indication of the current location may be converted to an index value according to a Hilbert curve (or other space-filling curve), and the index value applied to a time zone index file to determine the local time zone. A time zone setting of the mobile device may be updated accordingly. Furthermore, geofencing may be used by the mobile device to detect movement towards and through a time zone boundary, leading to a new time zone determination being initiated.

VERSATILE HOROLOGY COMPONENT

A horology component (1) for a timepiece, including a first portion (10) and a second portion (20), the first portion (10) comprising one part that is at least partially transparent and at least partially superposed on top of the second portion (20), this second portion (20) taking the form of a massive portion comprising a material capable of emitting at least one emission light wave if excited by at least one excitation light wave, and the at least partially transparent part of the first portion allowing an emission light wave emitted by the second portion (20) to be transmitted at least partially toward the outside of the horology component so that the horology component exhibits at least a first appearance by day and at least one different second appearance by night where the first portion (10) is backlit by an emission light wave emitted by the second portion (20).

A liquid crystal display device comprises a display panel, a signal generator, a plurality of wires, and a controller. The display panel includes a plurality of pixel columns, the pixel columns each extending along source lines of the display panel and each having an input end and a plurality of pixels connected to the input end, with the pixels receiving data signal from the input end. The signal generator has a plurality of output ends arranged in a first direction of the signal generator with respect to each other. The wires connect the output ends of the signal generator to the input ends of the pixel columns, respectively. The controller varies voltage waveform of the data signal at the output ends of the signal generator according to location of the output ends of the signal generator.

A method in an electronic device includes detecting, with one or more processors, a communication device electronically in communication with both a content presentation companion device operating as a primary display for the electronic device and a wearable companion device while an application operating on the one or more processors presents content on the content presentation companion device, one or more sensors of the electronic device determine an accessibility context of the electronic device meets at least a first predefined criterion and a proximity context of the electronic device meets at least a second predefined criterion. In response, the one or more processors redirect one or more user interface controls from a user interface of the electronic device to a user interface of the wearable companion device.

Universal world timepiece

Exemplary arrangements relate to a universal world timepiece such as a clock having a movement (11) in connection with indicators such as hands (16, 18, 20). The timepiece includes a stationary oriented 24-hour clock face (101, 301, 401, 501) including hour marks for each hour, and a dial (103, 303, 403, 503) which is movable relative to the 24-hour clock face. The example dial has a unique icon such as a different Latin letter for each hour of the 24 hours. A computer (10) of the timepiece may operate to determine geographic coordinates and/or or to receive wireless time signals and to determine the time zone in which the timepiece is currently located. The computer operates to cause the dial to be rotatably positioned responsive to the time zone determination, to cause a particular icon to be linearly aligned with a particular hour mark of the clock face. The arrangement enables a time in a designated time zone such as world time to be read, along with the local time and enables users in various time zones with clocks including such dials to set a future appointment at the same real time through designation of an icon.

SMART WATCH

The present invention discloses a smart watch, including a housing with a mounting cavity, a top cover that covers the housing, a movement in the mounting cavity, a watch dial for displaying time, a light emitting module, a shake sensing module, a tap sensing module, and an audio player. The light emitting module is configured to be turned on when the shake sensing module senses that the smart watch is shaken and turned off when the tap sensing module senses that the smart watch is tapped. The audio player is configured to be started when the smart watch is tapped or shaken. According to the present invention, when needing to turn on the light emitting module, a user only needs to shake the smart watch worn on his/her wrist, and when needing to turn off the light emitting module, the user only needs to tap the smart watch with his/her hand. Compared with the way of turning on the light emitting module by pressing a physical button, the smart watch is simpler and more convenient in operation.
