TACTICAL WATCH
20240385574 · 2024-11-21 ·

The tactical watch includes a dorsal case, a volar case, a plurality of buttons, one or more sensors, and a band. The tactical watch may be a multi-purpose time-keeping device adapted to be worn on a wrist. The band may encircle the wrist with the dorsal case positioned on a dorsal side of the wrist and the volar case positioned on a volar side of the wrist. An outward facing display on the dorsal case and an inward facing display on the volar case may display the time, biometric data, and other information. The plurality of buttons may be adapted for a user to press in order to control features of the tactical watch.

Gradual pixel aperture design for improved visualization at a sensor location of an electronics display
12147202 · 2024-11-19 · ·

A computing device includes a pixelated electronic display having a substrate and a plurality of pixels arranged thereon. The plurality of pixels includes, at least, a first portion of pixels and a second portion of pixels. The second portion of pixels has a gradually varying pixel aperture size. The computing device also includes at least one sensor positioned under the pixelated electronic display and adjacent to the second portion of pixels having the gradually varying pixel aperture size and at least one processor communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor for controlling the computing device.

Watch including a system for controlling biometric access to confidential data
12141258 · 2024-11-12 · ·

A method controls access to at least one confidential data access to which by a function of a watch requires an identification of its wearer. The method includes authenticating the wearer of the watch to authorise access to the functions of this watch, selecting one of the functions of the watch requiring the use of at least one of the confidential or general data archived in the memory element, determining the category to which the at least one data required by the function belongs, verifying the identity of the wearer of the watch from at least one biometric information element comprised within a portion of the skin of this wearer when the at least one data is the confidential data, and authorizing use of the at least one confidential data by the function as soon as the identity of the wearer of the watch is verified.

Symbiotic smartwatch displays
12140910 · 2024-11-12 · ·

Aspects of the technology provide a symbiotic graphical display on a client device such as a smartwatch. The system includes at least one emissive display element and at least one non-emissive display element. The display elements are arrayed in layers or other configurations such that content or other information is concurrently aligned across the respective display surfaces of the different elements. A first set of content is rendered using the non-emissive display element while a second set of content is rendered using the emissive display element. Depending on characteristics or features of a given content item, that item may be rendered by one or both of the display elements. Certain content may be transitioned from the emissive display element to the non-emissive display element according to a time threshold or other criteria.

PORTABLE OBJECT, IN PARTICULAR A WATCH, PROVIDED WITH A DEVICE FOR DETECTING THE CROSSING OF THE K?RM?N LINE, AND DETECTION METHOD

A watch (2) including a memory (4) and a detection device (6), which device includes an acceleration sensor (8) for measuring an acceleration vector of the watch in a three-dimensional coordinate frame linked to the watch, and an electronic unit (12) that processes measurements supplied by the acceleration sensor. The electronic unit (12) detects, in association with the memory, at least for a rocket of a given type, crossing of the K?rm?n line by the rocket, solely by means of the watch on board the rocket. Crossing of the K?rm?n line by the watch is detected by detection device based on periodic measurements carried out by the acceleration sensor from rocket take-off until the crossing of the K?rm?n line, as defined before the space flight, and based on a corresponding reference value stored in the memory. The K?rm?n line is defined by a given altitude or a selectable altitude.

Timepiece combining display hands and a digital display screen

A timepiece including a case; pivotably mounted display hands; a movement to drive the display hands while defining a sweeping surface; a display screen, a first part of the sweeping surface being superimposed on the screen and a second part of the sweeping surface not being superimposed on the screen; a control circuit configured to sequentially switch between first and second operating modes, with: a first operating mode wherein the display hands are driven in the first and second parts of the sweeping surface; a second operating mode wherein the display hands are driven only in the second part of the sweeping surface with display of a piece of information by the display screen.

Automatic alignment of wrist-mounted display with another display device

Disclosed are techniques for automatically aligning a wrist-mounted display device to a primary display device to facilitate simultaneous use of both display devices. Historical usage information corresponding to a user using both devices is leveraged to determine usage patterns for the devices together. Subsequently, when the primary display device is used by the user, the usage patterns are used to determine when the wrist-mounted display device can be used together with the primary display device. Position information from each device is used to determine a position for the wrist-mounted display device to automatically relocate to for aligning the wrist-mounted display device and the primary display device to have similar viewing directions. The wrist-mounted display device is automatically aligned to the position, and a usage of the aligned wrist-mounted display device is initiated based on the historical usage patterns.
