Clock Device with Automatic Simulation of Sunrise or Sunset
A clock comprises an alarm clock housing having a front face, a clock display occupying at least a portion of the front face, a control on the housing for activating a shade positioning function, and a processor within the housing. The processor is responsive to the control for generating at least one shade positioning command to be transmitted to at least one motorized window shade, so as to cause the motorized window shade to move to one or more position at one or more corresponding predetermined interval relative to an alarm time.

Waking user up in time to arrive at appointment by calculating bed-to-door time
A computing system may process previous inputs from a user into at least one electronic device, the previous inputs including at least a first input indicating that the user has woken up and a second input indicating that the user has left a sleeping location. The computing system may predict a bed-to-door time duration between the user waking up and the user leaving the sleeping location based on the first input indicating that the user has woken up and the second input indicating that the user has left the sleeping location. The computing system may determine a wakeup time for the user based on the predicted bed-to-door time duration and a time at which the user should leave the sleeping location to arrive at the appointment on time. The computing system may cause the at least one electronic device to output an alarm at the determined wakeup time.

Wake up to a cast alarm or an alarm plus content prompt
In one general aspect, a method can include setting an alarm on a computing device. The setting can include setting a predetermined time to trigger the alarm, indicating a target application to launch when the alarm is triggered, and identifying content for access by the target application when the target application is launched. The method can include launching the target application based on the triggering of the alarm, identifying an external device for execution of the identified content, and providing the identified content for execution on the external device.
