Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for managing access to a shared resource based on identity that is established by use of personal data, such as biometric data, a password, etc. An electronic lock can be used to restrict access to a shared resource, such as a house, a car, etc. In some embodiments, the electronic lock establishes an identity of a user based on personal data obtained by a personal data device of the electronic lock. In some embodiments, the electronic lock includes a sensor that generates security-related sensor data, such as motion sensor data, proximity data, etc. The electronic lock can take a security-related action based on the security-related data. For example, the electronic lock can send a message indicating a possible break in attempt when the motion sensor data indicates motion indicative of a break in.

Metering and measuring point system for measuring and metering electrical energy/electricity and method

An inductive drawing or feeding device for inductively drawing off or feeding in electrical energy/electricity by electric vehicles is connected to a power grid. The inductive drawing or feeding device includes a measuring device configured to measure at least one physical parameter representing the electrical energy inductively transmitted through the associated drawing or feeding device. The inductive drawing or feeding device also includes an identifier for identifying the owner of the connection of the inductive drawing or feeding device. The inductive drawing of feeding device further includes a comparing device configured to compare the at least one physical parameter measured at a connecting side with at least one physical parameter measured at a drawing off or feeding side.

Method and apparatus for alarm monitoring

A method for alarm monitoring abnormal conditions associated with a process operation includes collecting N sample data representing one or more parameters of a process, determining a distribution type of the sample data, obtaining an alarm monitoring strategy associated with the distribution type, and monitoring the process using the alarm monitoring strategy. The distribution type may be single-constant, multi-level discrete, normally distributed, continuous non-normally distributed, cyclical trend-up/down, and drifting away after a period maintenance. The alarm monitoring strategy includes a unilateral or bilateral control chart. The one-side control chart has either an upper control limit (UCL) of (100−p) or a lower control limit (LCL) of (p), and the two-sided control chart has a UCL of (100−p/2) and an LCL of (p/2), where p is a predetermined false alarm rate which determines the number N. The control limit may be a difference between two adjacent sample values of the sample data.

A biometric authentication device includes: a storage unit to store a first enrolled template and first information including a parameter representing an input environment of the first enrolled template; a receiving unit to receive biometric information from the terminal device, a second enrolled template stored in the terminal device, and second information including a parameter representing an input environment of the second enrolled template; an authentication unit to perform authentication by matching the received biometric information and the first enrolled template; a selecting unit to select the first enrolled template or the second enrolled template, based on the first and second information, when the biometric information is accepted; and an updating unit to update the first enrolled template stored in the storage unit to the second enrolled template when the second enrolled template is selected.

Antenna diversity implementation for wireless locks

An electronic lock system including an access control device configured to provide system instructions, an interface module electrically coupled to the access control device and configured to transmit RF signals in response to system instructions received from the access control device, and a plurality of wireless electronic door locks each configured to wirelessly communicate with the interface module. Each of the wireless electronic door locks includes a controller and a wireless receiver operatively connected to the controller, the wireless receiver including a first antenna defined as a circuit board trace and a second antenna, spaced from the first antenna and defined as a circuit board trace. Each of the first antenna and the second antenna include one of a monopole antenna and a fractal antenna. The controller is configured to switch between the first antenna and the second antenna to receive a wireless signal having a greater signal strength.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROVIDING A DATA-DRIVEN AIRCRAFT HEALTH REPORT

In one embodiment, a method for monitoring performance of an aircraft against maximum aircraft performance specifications during flight is provided. The method receives, by a processor on the aircraft, a plurality of sensor signals from a respective plurality of sensors onboard the aircraft and individually compares each of the plurality of sensor signals to a respective maximum aircraft performance specification. If an exceedance of a maximum aircraft performance specification is detected, information related to such occurrence of exceeding the maximum aircraft performance specification is recorded. The recorded information would be used to provide a report presenting the information related to the occurrence of exceeding the maximum aircraft performance specification.

Portable medication dispensing containers

A medication delivery system is disclosed that includes a portable container and a controller. The portable container includes a body and a lid that forms a securable storage compartment, and a latch that is coupled to the body and configured to releasably secure the lid. The portable container also includes a processor and a power source coupled to the latch, the processor causing the latch to release when an access signal based on a unique identifier is received.

Reducing nuisance notifications from a building automation system

Reducing nuisance notifications from building automation systems is described herein. One device includes a memory, and a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to receive a notification of an alarm from a building automation system, compare attributes of the alarm to attributes of alarms included in a database of suppressed alarms, refrain from transmitting a notification of the alarm to a mobile device in response to the attributes of the alarm matching attributes of any of the alarms in the database, and transmit a notification of the alarm to a mobile device in response to the attributes of the alarm not matching the attributes of any of the alarms in the database.

Plausibility check of a sensor signal

In a method for checking the plausibility of sensor signals, a first sensor element detects at least one first physical quantity and outputs it as a first sensor signal, and a second sensor element detects a second physical quantity correlated with the first physical quantity and outputs it as a second sensor signal. The first sensor element has a first reliability range having an upper limit and/or a lower limit, which range is related to the second physical quantity. The first physical quantity detected by the first sensor element is recognized as plausible if the second physical quantity detected by the second sensor element lies within the corresponding first reliability range of the first sensor element.
