Automatic fill control technique
A pump includes a signal processor that receives signaling containing information about a low level of a liquid sensed in an appliance reservoir to be supplied to an appliance that uses the liquid to dispense a flavored beverage, and also about when the appliance reservoir is refilled based upon an indication that forms part of an appliance reservoir refill level calibration procedure programmed by an appliance user; and determines corresponding signaling containing information about automatically refilling the liquid in the appliance reservoir, based upon the signaling received.

Container filling or emptying guidance device
A substance contactless device configured to detect, monitor, and alert a user about the changing level of the substance filling a container. The substance can be any substance, including fluids, for example hot water, or solids, for example grain or beans. The device includes sensors, for example an ultrasonic, an infrared, a piezo, or a pressure sensor to detect the changing level values with respect to a predetermined threshold level value. The sensor can scan the container to determine and preset a fill level, from the top of the container. The device can also include a pressure sensor, sensing when a substance is being added or removed from a container. The sensor can also be a piezo sensor. Using a one or more sensors, such device does not need to come into a physical contact with the substance being filled or emptied.
Method and system for configuring wind turbines
A method and system of configuring wind turbines is provided. The method and system includes generation of a plurality of configuration profiles. Thereafter, one of the configuration profiles is set as the active configuration profile and the rest of them are stored as shadow configuration profiles. Further, the performance of the active configuration profile and the shadow configuration profiles are monitored. Based on the performance of the configuration profiles, a candidate configuration profile is chosen. Further, a delta configuration profile is generated by eliminating the duplicate parameters from the candidate configuration profile and the active configuration profile. Further, the active configuration profile is updated with the delta configuration profile.
Method for controlling a variable transformer and electrical system for coupling two AC networks
A method of controlling a regulating transformer with a settable translation ratio, switchable between a first and second AC-mains includes the following operations: detecting phasor data of phasors of the first and/or second AC-mains; determining an equivalent circuit diagram with equivalent circuit diagram parameters for the first AC-mains; determining a load model with load model parameters for the second AC-mains; determining the equivalent circuit diagram parameters and the load model parameters from the phasor data; and when switching over to a desired translation ratio is to take place: predicting a working point of the second AC-mains for the desired translation ratio; checking a stability criterion in the second AC-mains for the predicted working point; and switching over to the desired translation ratio is carried out upon the stability criterion being fulfilled, but otherwise not switching over to the desired translation ratio.
Power management method, electronic device, and power adapter
Embodiments of the present invention provide a power management method, an electronic device and a power adapter, capable of improving the charge safety. The method is executed in an electronic device charged by a power adapter via a charge cable. The method includes: determining a temperature of a charging interface, in which the charging interface includes at least one of an interface of the power adapter for electric connection with the charging cable, an interface of the charging cable for electric connection with the power adapter, an interface of the charging cable for electric connection with the electronic device, and an interface of the electronic device for electric connection with the charging cable; and managing power of the electronic device according to the temperature of the charging interface.
Method and apparatus to generate and use power, thermal and performance characteristics of nodes to improve energy efficiency and reducing wait time for jobs in the queue
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having stored thereon instructions, the instructions being executable by one or more processors to perform operations including: receiving, by a calibration module executed by the one or more processors, a calibration request including (i) a workload type, (ii) a list of compute nodes belonging to a distributed computer system, and (iii) one or more frequencies; responsive to identifying the workload type as a clustered workload type, instructing a plurality of compute nodes on the list of compute nodes to begin processing a workload of the workload type; and responsive to identifying the workload type as a clustered workload type, instructing a compute node on the list of compute nodes to begin processing the workload of the workload type is shown.
Intelligent temperature management based on energy usage profiles and outside weather conditions
Accessing an energy management policy for a plurality of devices is described, wherein the devices are coupled with a first structure. The energy usage of the devices is monitored. An energy usage rule and energy usage is then compared. The energy management policy and energy usage is also compared. Based on the comparing, an instruction is generated to modify an energy usage profile of said device to correlate with the energy usage rule associated with the devices and the energy management policy, thereby enabling efficient energy management.
Automatic analyzer and computer-readable recording medium storing program
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided an automatic analyzer that detects a liquid level by using an electrostatic capacity system. Feature values are extracted from time-series oscillating frequency data of an alternating current signal that is output by an oscillation circuit in a period from a time point at which a dispensing probe starts moving downward till a time point at which a certain period of time has elapsed. On the basis of the feature values from the time-series oscillating frequency data, it is determined whether or not the liquid level in a container has been detected properly, by using different methods. Whether a gap is present between the tip portion of the dispensing probe and the liquid level in the container and a reason for the gap are determined from a combination of multiple determination results obtained by using the methods.
Process to reduce the probability of large cascading failures in a transmission network
Described is a system for decreasing the frequency of large cascading failures in a transmission network. Based on sensors distributed throughout the transmission network, the system determines if a cascading failure is present in a transmission network. Following determination of the cascading failure, the system activates at least one switch of a plurality of switches distributed in the transmission network in order to switch transmission lines, thereby altering connectivity in the transmission network.
