Monitoring apparatus and method
Embodiments of the present invention provide apparatus for monitoring one or more target objects in an environment external to a host vehicle by means of at least one sensor, the apparatus being arranged to trigger at least one action responsive to the detection of prescribed relative movement between the host vehicle and the one or more target objects, wherein the apparatus is arranged to monitor one or more control inputs of the vehicle and to over-ride triggering of the at least one action such that triggering of the at least one action is not performed in the event that a prescribed movement of one or more of the control inputs is detected.
CONCRETE DRUM CONTROL, PROPERTY PREDICTION, AND MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method includes acquiring delivery data for contents for transport by a vehicle, the delivery data regarding at least one of a delivery location, a delivery time, or a delivery route; acquiring an initial property of the contents; predicting a delivery property for the contents based on the delivery data and the initial property; acquiring en route data including at least one of (i) content data regarding a current property of the contents, (ii) environment data regarding an environmental characteristic external to the vehicle, or (iii) GPS data regarding at least one of a travel distance, a travel time, traffic information, or a road parameter between a current location of the vehicle and the delivery location for the contents; and updating the prediction for the delivery property for the contents based on the en route data.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE
A vehicle control device aims to ensure more appropriate self-driving based on circumstances around its own vehicle. The vehicle control device controls an engine and a motor such as to drive the vehicle with changing over between motor drive without operation of the engine and hybrid drive with operation of the engine. In the motor drive in a self-driving mode where the vehicle is driven independently of a driver's accelerating or decelerating operation, the vehicle control device maintains the motor drive when an other vehicle condition is not met, where the other vehicle condition is a condition that any other vehicle is present in a predetermined distance at least either ahead of the own vehicle or behind the own vehicle, while allowing for a shift to the hybrid drive when the other vehicle condition is met.
Indoor rotation sensor and directional sensor for determining the heading angle of portable device
A method and system are provided for determining a heading angle of a user of a portable electronic device in an indoor environment. In an embodiment, the device collects rotational movement information indicative of rotational movement of the device and determines a first heading angle of the device. The first heading angle is determined by using the downward direction of the device to determine the vertical angular rate in the horizontal plane, and integrating the vertical angular rate to form the first heading angle. The device collects first direction information from a first direction sensor and second direction information from a second direction sensor and uses it determine which of the first and second direction information is an outlier, e.g., inaccurate due to an occurrence of a disturbance. The device then corrects the heading angle by comparing the heading angle to the first and second direction information.
Concrete drum control, property prediction, and monitoring systems and methods
A vehicle includes a chassis, a drum assembly, and a control system. The drum assembly includes a drum configured to receive drum contents including at least one of ingredients and a mixture and a drive system coupled to the drum. The drive system is configured to rotate the drum to agitate the drum contents. The control system is configured to receive delivery data for the drum contents; receive at least one initial property of the drum contents; predict a delivery property for the drum contents based on the delivery data and the at least one initial property; receive en route data including at least one of mixture data, environment data, and GPS data; and update the predicted delivery property for the drum contents based on the en route data.
Method for controlling rotating apparatus and electronic device thereof
An apparatus and a method for controlling a rotating body in an electronic device are provided. The method includes emitting light to at least one indicator among a plurality of indicators having different reflectivities in a rotating body, receiving light reflected from the at least one indicator, detecting a rotation parameter of the rotating body based on an amount of the reflected light received from the at least one indicator, and controlling the rotating body based on the rotation parameter.

Concrete drum control, property prediction, and monitoring system and methods
A method includes acquiring, by one or more processing circuits, en route data as a vehicle travels from a first location to a second location, and predicting, by the one or more processing circuits, a delivery property for the contents based on the en route data. The en route data includes content data regarding a current property of contents being transported by the vehicle, environment data regarding an environmental characteristic external to the vehicle, and GPS data regarding at least one of a travel distance, a travel time, traffic information, or a road parameter between the first location and the second location.

SELECTING PROPELLERS FOR PERFORMANCE AND NOISE SHAPING
Aerial vehicles may be operated with discrete sets of propellers, which may be selected for a specific purpose or on a specific basis. The discrete sets of propellers may be operated separately or in tandem with one another, and at varying power levels. For example, a set of propellers may be selected to optimize the thrust, lift, maneuverability or efficiency of an aerial vehicle based on a position or other operational characteristic of the aerial vehicle, or an environmental condition encountered by the aerial vehicle. At least one of the propellers may be statically or dynamically imbalanced, such that the propeller emits a predetermined sound during operation. A balanced propeller may be specifically modified to cause the aerial vehicle to emit the predetermined sound by changing one or more parameters of the balanced propeller and causing the balanced propeller to be statically or dynamically imbalanced.
