Coolant and ambient temperature control for chillerless liquid cooled data centers
Cooling control methods and systems include measuring a temperature of air provided to one or more nodes by an air-to-liquid heat exchanger; measuring a temperature of at least one component of the one or more nodes and finding a maximum component temperature across all such nodes; comparing the maximum component temperature to a first and second component threshold and comparing the air temperature to a first and second air threshold; and controlling a proportion of coolant flow and a coolant flow rate to the air-to-liquid heat exchanger and the one or more nodes based on the comparisons.
Thermostat system with software-repurposable wiring terminals adaptable for HVAC systems of different ranges of complexity
An auxiliary hardware box is described that can be installed at or near the HVAC system. The auxiliary box includes a large number of wiring terminals, for example 16 or more, for connecting to a relatively large number of HVAC control wires. The auxiliary box can include a “train map” type graphic display that is visible to the installer and provides a graphical indication as to which relays or switches are currently open and which are currently closed. A small sleek visually pleasing thermostat is also described that can be connected either directly to an HVAC system or to the auxiliary box, and can automatically detect an purpose the connected wires according to which it is connected to.
Sales estimating tool for building control system
A method for providing an estimate for a defined building control system comprises displaying on a user interface a plurality of areas in which the defined building control system would be installed. Pluralities of subsystems are associated with the plurality of areas and include at least one typical subsystem that is associated with a defined plurality of building automation components in a database. The method further comprises displaying on the user interface the typical subsystem in association with the plurality of areas. A number of instances of the typical subsystem that are associated with the plurality of areas are also displayed on the user interface. A cost estimate is generated for the defined building control system based at least in part on the number of instances of the typical subsystem.
Systems and methods for cooling using galley monuments
A cooling system for use with a galley monument having at least one galley compartment includes a heat exchanger supplying cooled air to at least one galley compartment. An airflow supply and return system has a supply duct that couples the heat exchanger in flow communication with the at least one galley compartment. A diverter mechanism is positioned at least partially within the supply duct for controlling flow of the cooled air. The diverter mechanism is movable between a first position in which the cooled air flows from the heat exchanger through the supply duct to the at least one galley compartment and a second position in which at least a portion of the cooled air from the heat exchanger is discharged from the supply duct to the passenger compartment of the aircraft.
Information processing device and controlling method
A processor determines a target value of a temperature of a processing unit included in the information processing system on the basis of the temperature of the processing unit when first power consumption indicates a relatively low power consumption by referring to correlation information that indicates a change in the first power consumption, which is a total sum of second power consumption of the processing unit and third power consumption of an air-conditioning machine included in the information processing system, with respect to a change in the temperature of the processing unit. Then, the processor outputs a control signal for controlling the air-conditioning machine on the basis of the target value.
System and method for wiring-relay configuration in digital thermostats
In a thermostat having a plurality of demand circuits and a thermostat controller, a method of controlling devices connected to the demand circuits. One or more demand circuits in a thermostat are connected to devices in an HVAC system. The thermostat is configured to associate each connected demand circuit with the device to which it is connected and control signals are routed from the thermostat controller to the one or more demand circuits to control devices associated with the demand circuits.
Cooling system for vehicle and controlling method thereof
A cooling system for a vehicle may include a cooling water temperature sensor, a cooling circulation fluid passage including first, second and third fluid passages, wherein the cooling water exhausted from the engine may be branched into the first fluid passage provided with a heater core, the second fluid passage provided with a radiator, and the third fluid passage provided with an exhaust heat recovery apparatus, a fluid flow adjusting valve provided on a point at which the cooling water passing through the cooling water temperature sensor may be branched into the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to adjust a flow of the cooling water, and a controlling part controlling the first fluid passage to the third fluid passage to be selectively opened or closed by operating the fluid flow adjusting valve depending on the temperature of the cooling water, in a heating mode and a non-heating mode.
CONTROLS AND OPERATION OF VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES
Unique apparatuses, methods, and systems of opposing, limiting, and/or preventing undesired or un-commanded compressor rotation are disclosed. One exemplary embodiment is an HVACR system comprising a variable frequency drive configured to drive an electric motor to rotate a screw compressor or scroll compressor. A controller is configured to monitor various aspects of the system and to control the drive. When a condition indicative of potential undesired or un-commanded compressor rotation is identified, the controller commands the variable frequency drive to control the motor to limit and preferably prevent compressor rotation. One technique comprises shorting switches of the drive to a DC bus rail to allow back EMF induced current in the motor windings to be dissipated through winding resistance thus providing a damping force. Another technique comprises controlling the inverter to insert a DC current into the motor to cause the motor to align to and hold a particular position.
