OPTICALLY COUPLED NITROGEN VACANCY-DEFECT SYSTEM FOR SCALABLE QUBIT ARRAYS
Described herein are systems and methods for coupling Nitrogen Vacancy (NV)-defects in a quantum computing architecture. A diamond wafer comprises separated implantation sites, at least a portion of which comprise a single NV-defect. An optical cavity system comprises cavity sites aligned to the implantation sites. An integrated optics system includes a first chip module comprising optical waveguides and associated switchable elements, photon sources, photon detectors, and fiber optic connections. A first switchable element couples a first pair of NV-defects by splitting a beam emitted by a photon source, via a first optical waveguide, to the cavity sites aligned to the implantation sites of the first pair of NV-defects. A second switchable element couples a second pair of NV-defects by splitting a beam emitted by a photon source, via a second optical waveguide, to the cavity sites aligned to the implantation sites of the second pair of NV-defects.
Scoring attributes in a deep question answering system based on syntactic or semantic guidelines
Systems and computer program products to, responsive to receiving a case by a deep question answering (deep QA) system, identify, in a corpus of information, a first variable for which a value was not specified in the case, compute an importance score for the first variable based on a concept in the corpus, wherein the concept is associated with the first variable, and upon determining that the importance score exceeds an importance threshold, determine that specifying a value for the first variable increases a confidence score of a response returned by the deep QA system beyond a confidence threshold.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR OPTICAL NEURAL NETWORK
An optical neural network is constructed based on photonic integrated circuits to perform neuromorphic computing. In the optical neural network, matrix multiplication is implemented using one or more optical interference units, which can apply an arbitrary weighting matrix multiplication to an array of input optical signals. Nonlinear activation is realized by an optical nonlinearity unit, which can be based on nonlinear optical effects, such as saturable absorption. These calculations are implemented optically, thereby resulting in high calculation speeds and low power consumption in the optical neural network.
Seismic lineation mapping method and system
A method for seismic geological lineation mapping, wherein a seismic dataset is collected, with information about minor lineations generated by subtle structural geological features in an underground earth formation. Seismic attribute volumes are identified in the seismic dataset, relating to trace continuity, amplitude, frequency and phase. The attribute volumes may have an insufficient resolution to display the minor lineations. A seismic multivolume lithological lineation map is generated, in which single attribute lineation maps generated for each of the identified seismic attribute volumes are combined to accurately display the minor lineations generated by the subtle geological features.

The system may also include a 5 thalamobot embodied in at least a first processor, in which the first processor is in communication with the input device. The thalamobot may include at least one filter for monitoring captured data from the input device and for identifying at least one state change within the captured data. The system may also include at least one critic and/or at least one recognition system.
System, method, and computer program for providing proactive customer care for issues associated with setting up the billing process as part of the ordering process
A system, method, and computer program product are provided for providing proactive customer care for issues associated with billing or ordering processes. In use, a likelihood that a customer is going to call a call center to address at least one issue associated with at least one of an ordering process or a billing process is predicted. Additionally, it is determined whether the customer is likely to call the call center based on the predicted likelihood that the customer is going to call the call center. Further, the customer is proactively notified before the customer contacts the call center, if it is determined that the customer is likely to call the call center.
Management of power consumption in optical circuits for quantum computing
A method includes calculating a plurality of permutation matrices of an input matrix that characterizes a linear transformation of a plurality of input states. The method also includes determining a plurality of settings of an optical circuit based on the plurality of permutation matrices. Each setting in the plurality of settings is associated with an electric power, from a plurality of electric powers, consumed by the optical circuit. The method also includes determining a selected setting of the optical circuit based on the electric power from the plurality of electric powers and consumed by the optical circuit at each setting from the plurality of settings associated with the electric power. The method further includes implementing the selected setting on the optical circuit to perform the linear transformation of the plurality of input states.
Optical signal processing device
There is provided an optical signal processing device that generates a mask function in an optical domain to enable high-speed RC processing. For light emitted from a laser light source, an optical modulator modulates at a modulation period at least one of the intensity and phase values of the optical electric field. Thereby, the light emitted from the laser light source becomes an input signal. The input signal is entered into an optical FIR filter unit. For the input signal, the term corresponding to the mask function is multiplied at the optical FIR filter unit and weighted. Thereby, the input signal is converted into an input signal modulated. The modulated input signal enters via an optical coupler, an optical circulation circuit which is loaded with a variable attenuator and a nonlinear response element. The circulating optical signal is branched into two by an optical coupler. One branched light is converted into an intermediate signal at an optical receiver. The intermediate signal is computed by a formula at an electric signal processing circuit, and thereby, the operation as RC can be performed.
