Clocking a processor
A technique includes clocking a processor; and in response to the processor providing a signal indicating that the processor is transitioning between a first power state that is associated with a first power consumption and a second power state that is associated with a second power consumption different than the first power consumption, changing a frequency of the clocking.
Interface clock management
The timing of the synchronous interface is controlled by a clock signal driven by a controller. The clock is toggled in order to send a command to a memory device via the interface. If there are no additional commands to be sent via the interface, the controller suspends the clock signal. When the memory device is ready, the memory device drives a signal back to the controller. The timing of this signal is not dependent upon the clock signal. Receipt of this signal by the controller indicates that the memory device is ready and the clock signal should be resumed so that a status of the command can be returned via the interface, or another command issued via the interface.
Static electricity distribution measuring apparatus and static electricity distribution measuring method
A static electricity distribution measuring apparatus (1) according to the present disclosure measures the static electricity distribution on a measurement surface of a measurement target (200), and is provided with: an array antenna (2) that receives electric fields generated from each of a plurality of areas (211) on the measurement surface through vibration; a vibrator (3) that vibrates the measurement target (200) or the array antenna (2); a measurer (4) that measures at least one from among intensity, frequency and phase of the electric fields in each of the plurality of areas (211) received by the array antenna (2); a calculator (5) that calculates an amount of static electricity for each of the plurality of areas (211) based on measurement results by the measurer (4); and a drawer (6) that draws the static electricity distribution on the measurement surface based on the amount of static electricity in each of the plurality of areas (211). The array antenna (2) has a plurality of antenna elements (21) respectively corresponding to the plurality of areas (211).
Power management circuit and electronic device employing the same
A power management circuit that controls a plurality of power circuits for generating supply voltages at least for a processor is disclosed. The circuit includes: a real time clock that generates clock signals with a predetermined frequency; a power-on terminal to which a power-on key is connected, wherein the power-on terminal receives a voltage whose level depends on whether the power-on key is pressed or not; a power-on detecting unit that monitors a voltage at the power-on terminal and asserts a start signal if it is determined using the clock signals that the power-on key is pressed and held for a predetermined time period; and a power management controller that receives a system voltage based on a battery voltage or a DC voltage from a DC power source and, upon the start signal is asserted, starts up the plurality of power circuits in a predetermined sequence using the clock signals.
Interactive constraint solver
Constraint programming is used to solve problems that have many variables and that have many possible solutions. An interactive constraint solver application provides additional information to a user if a conflict arises between two choice-constraints so that the additional information can be used to resolve the conflict according to a model-constraint set up by an application developer. The additional information identifies a priority group, or queue, to which the constraint was added. Depending on the particulars included in the additional information, and the model-constraints, the conflict is resolved by the interactive constraint solver application.
Dynamically updating logical identifiers of cores of a processor
In one embodiment, a processor includes a plurality of cores each including a first storage to store a physical identifier for the core and a second storage to store a logical identifier associated with the core; a plurality of thermal sensors to measure a temperature at a corresponding location of the processor; and a power controller including a dynamic core identifier logic to dynamically remap a first logical identifier associated with a first core to associate the first logical identifier with a second core, based at least in part on a temperature associated with the first core, the dynamic remapping to cause a first thread to be migrated from the first core to the second core transparently to an operating system. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Powered device electrical data modeling and intelligence
A powered device electrical data modeling and intelligence system is used to monitor electrical data of powered devices to determine in-use activity thereof. A number of network-enabled electric plugs are deployed in a region, for example, within certain areas of a floor of a building or within certain floors of a building. Each of the network-enabled electric plugs is configured to deliver electricity from an electricity source to one or more powered devices located in the region. A server runs a web application used to monitor electrical data for the region based on electricity drawn by each of the one or more powered devices. The web application computes usage metrics for the powered devices by modeling electrical data for the powered devices into clusters representative of device operational states. The web application may then determine an operational state of a powered device according to the usage metrics.
SYSTEM, PRINTING APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR MANAGING CONSUMABLE MATERIAL WITHOUT MEASURING ACTUAL REMAINING AMOUNT OF CONSUMABLE MATERIAL
A system includes a tank and a print engine. The tank is configured to store a consumable material for printing supplied in units of a predetermined volume from a reservoir. The print engine is configured to perform image formation on a printing medium using the consumable material in the tank. The system is configured to obtain a cumulative consumption amount of the consumable material used for the image formation by the print engine, obtain the predetermined volume, obtain an order count representing how many times the reservoir has been heretofore ordered, obtain a consumption error correction value for correcting an individual difference in consumption characteristics of the print engine, and determine whether to order a new reservoir based on the cumulative consumption amount of the consumable material, the predetermined volume, the order count, and the consumption error correction value.
