Phasing correction
Memory efficient methods determine corrected color values from image data acquired by a nucleic acid sequencer during a base calling cycle. Such methods may: (a) obtain an image of a substrate (e.g., a portion of a flow cell) including a plurality of sites where nucleic acid bases are read; (b) measure color values of the plurality of sites from the image of the substrate; (c) store the color values in a processor buffer of the sequencer's one or more processors; (d) retrieve partially phase-corrected color values of the plurality of sites, where the partially phase-corrected color values were stored in the sequencer's memory during an immediately preceding base calling cycle; (e) determine a prephasing correction; and (f) determine the corrected color values. In various implementations, these operations are all performed during a single base calling cycle. In certain embodiments, the methods additionally include using the corrected color values to make base calls for the plurality of sites. Sequencers may be designed or configured to implement such methods.
Method and apparatus for processing data
A computer program product, an apparatus, a functionally safe programmable controller and a method for processing data, wherein an uncoded real number x is converted into a logarithmic number system (LNS) coded integer x.sub.LNS via a predetermined conversion rule for a logarithmic number system (LNS) in accordance with the relationship: x.sub.LNS=sgn(x).Math.2.sup.m+Id|x|.Math.2.sup.n, where sgn(x) denotes a sign function of the uncoded real number x, Id|x| denotes a binary logarithm of the uncoded real number x, m denotes a first exponent and n denotes a second exponent, and the LNS-coded integer x.sub.LNS is coded into an arithmetically coded integer x.sub.c via arithmetic coding such that the required integer operations is reduced.

Display system with a flexible display
A display system includes a continuous flexible display, two book halves, two main display supports, and a movement synchronizing coupling. The two book halves is connected to each other via a hinge mechanism. The hinge mechanism has two hinges, and each hinge is rotatable about respective axis. Each of the two main display supports connects to one of the two book halves and is configured to support the flexible display. The coupling is connected to the two main display supports and rotating about a rotation axis that is parallel to the axis of hinge to enable a synchronized movement of the two main display supports.
GENERATING QUANTUM REPRESENTATIONS OF HEXADECIMAL DATA
Methods, systems, and apparatus for implementing a hexadecimal to quantum computation translation. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining one or more hexadecimal data inputs; applying a quantum computation translation operation to each hexadecimal data input to generate one or more corresponding sequences of quantum computations; implementing the one or more sequences of quantum computations using quantum computing hardware to obtain one or more corresponding sequence of measurement results; and providing the one or more sequences of measurement results as respective representations of the one or more hexadecimal data inputs.
