Tracking change data in a database

Methods and systems are disclosed for tracking change data in a database. A database, stored at a computer system, is accessed with a plurality of data written to fields in the database, wherein each data in the fields comprises a record header. Data is changed in at least one field of the plurality of data in the database via the computer system, wherein the changing the data changes the record header for the at least one field. A transaction identification (ID) is stored in the record header for each change to the at least one field. A flag is created in the record header signaling the change to the at least one field. Successive versions of the database are linked together such that a subscriber accessing the database can automatically view a current version of the database with the change by accessing the record header and identifying the flag.

Cyber security through generational diffusion of identities
11710050 · 2023-07-25 ·

Diffusing a root identity of an entity among association and event covenants in a multi-dimensional computing security system involves generating a first generation of diffusion of identities of entities participating in mediated association and generating a second generation of diffusion of identities of the entities through recombinant mediated association of the entities and at least one other entity. The second generation of diffusion of identities facilitates securely constraining a computing system action associated with one of the entities.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EFFICIENTLY VALIDATING TIME-SERIES DATA USING A HASH-BASED REPRESENTATION OF THE DATA
20230025331 · 2023-01-26 ·

An apparatus includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores a time-series of data sets, and a first version of a data structure generated from the time-series as it existed at a first time. The data structure includes a terminal node that stores a compressed representation of the time-series and a bottom level of nodes, each of which stores a hash of a data set of the time-series. The processor generates a second version of the data structure based on the time-series as it exists at a second time. The processor determines that the data stored by the terminal nodes in the first and second versions do not match. In response, the processor identifies a bottom level node for which the stored data in the first and second versions do not match, and requests validation. The processor receives a response indicating whether an intentional change was made.

Systems and methods for host image transfer

Methods and systems for transferring a host image of a first machine to a second machine, such as during disaster recovery or migration, are disclosed. In one example, a first profile of a first machine of a first type is compared to a second profile of a second machine of a second type different from the first type, to which the host image is to be transferred. The first and second profiles each comprise at least one property of the first type of first machine and the second type of second machine, respectively. At least one property of a host image of the first machine is conformed to at least one corresponding property of the second machine. The conformed host image is provided to the second machine, via a network. The second machine is configured with at least one conformed property of the host image.

Methods and systems for creating and using a location identification grid

A method and system for generating a location identifier using a location code and a grid coordinate. The location code corresponds to a defined geographical area, such as a postal code or an area code. A grid coordinate can be determined based on destination location information, such as an address, a GPS-determined position, or other reference to a specific physical location. The location identifier is combined with the location code to generate a location identifier, which can be encoded in a computer readable format and placed on items for use in a distribution network. The location identifier can be used to facilitate domestic or international distribution of items using a common format or addressing scheme. The domestic and foreign distribution networks read and interpret location identifiers in order to deliver items.

Backup and restoration for storage system

A backup method is provided for a file system for managing hierarchical storage including one or more storage media on a computer system including one or more computers. Each of the one or more storage media includes a data part which is separated from an index and on which updated information is appended and kept. Each of a plurality of pieces of data within the file system is managed to be migrated to at least any of the one or more storage media. The backup method includes backing up metadata of the plurality of pieces of data migrated within the file system; and backing up the index of each of the one or more storage media to which the plurality of pieces of data have been migrated, substantially at the same time point as the metadata.

Optimized disaster-recovery-as-a-service system

Methods, computer program products, and systems are presented. The methods include, for instance: analyzing a dataset associated with a service provided by the data protection service provider in order to determine a policy for when and how to replicate the respective components of the dataset corresponding to the service from a source site to a target site, such that the target site may perform the service with a minimum cost.

Unified message search

The disclosed embodiments include computerized methods, systems, and devices, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for generating terms of a search query based on a user's spoken utterances, identifying multiple cross-platform messages based on the generated terms, and to generating, via a presentation device, a single interface that enables the user to interact with identified messages. Based on a spoken utterance, the disclosed embodiments may determine user-specified search terms and/or criteria, and based on the user-specified search terms and/or criteria, may obtain cross-platform message data that corresponds to the search query. The communications device may generate one or more interface elements that describe corresponding ones of the cross-platform messages, which may be presented within a unified graphical user interface or voice-user interface by a communications device.

Short-term and long-term memory on an edge device

Systems and methods are provided for distributed video storage and search over edge computing devices having a short-term memory and a long-term memory. The method may comprise caching a first portion of data on a first device. The method may further comprise determining, at a second device, whether the first device has the first portion of data. The determining may be based on whether the first piece of data satisfies a specified criterion. The method may further comprise sending the data, or a portion of the data, and/or a representation of the data from the first device to a third device.
