Beacon reader with reduced network data traffic
11601778 · 2023-03-07 · ·

Systems, methods, and computer-executable instructions for reducing network traffic from a beacon reader including detecting a plurality of beacon information from the beacon during a read delay period of time. A distance between the beacon reader and the beacon for each of the two of more beacon information is determined. A combined distance based on the determined distances between the beacon reader and the beacon for each of the plurality of beacon information is determined. A distance moved from the combined distance and the previous distance of the beacon is determined. The distance moved is greater than a predetermined distance threshold. A beacon identifier is transmitted to a remote server based on the distance moved being greater than the predetermined distance threshold.

The tag ID includes identifying information for first tag. An orientation measurement unit records orientation data for the reader. The reader is aligned with the rope. The reader orientation is taken as the rope orientation. The orientation data includes azimuth measurement and attitude measurement of the reader. A navigation device includes a navigation tag sensor to detect the first tag and a navigation processor to receive positioning data of the first tag.

ACCESS CONTROL ELECTRONICS FOR WIRELESS LOCKS

Access control electronics for wireless locks comprise one or more battery operated radios that receive access control codes. The wireless accessed locks locate the electronic components, circuits, sensors and antennas and many of the lock components away from the container being secured and closer to the operator/user. The disclosed access control electronics combine a proximity detection circuit comprising sensor pads and a capacitive sensing circuit and one or more short-range radio frequency antennas for reading RFID devices. The proximity sensor pads are in close proximity with the antennas, without the antennas interfering with the proximity sensing process, and the sensor pads to not attenuate the signals between the RFID devices and the antennas after the RFID devices are detected.

POSITIONING GUIDANCE FOR RFID DEVICES
20230065694 · 2023-03-02 ·

Described is a method for guiding a user for positioning a first RFID-enabled device relative to a second RFID-enabled device for allowing a robust RFID communication between the two RFID-enabled devices. The method includes placing the first RFID-enabled device to a first position relative to the second RFID-enabled device; receiving, by the first RFID-enabled device, when being located at the first position, a first RFID signal transmitted by the second RFID-enabled device; measuring, by the first RFID-enabled device, a first signal strength of the first RFID signal; placing the first RFID-enabled device to a second position relative to the second RFID-enabled device; receiving, by the first RFID-enabled device, when being located at the second position, a second RFID signal transmitted by the second RFID-enabled device; measuring, by the first RFID-enabled device, a second signal strength of the first RFID signal; determining, based on the first signal strength and on the second signal strength, a movement indication for a movement of the first RFID-enabled device towards a target position, at which there is expected a target RF coupling strength between the two RFID-enabled devices, which is stronger than a first RF coupling strength being associated with the first position and a second RF coupling strength being associated with the second position; and (h) providing the determined movement indication to the user of the first RFID-enabled device. In other embodiments, an RFID communication system and device are provided.
