PHASE VALUE DETERMINATION FOR AN NFC CARD EMULATING DEVICE UTILIZING ACTIVE LOAD MODULATION

There is described a method of determining a phase value for an NFC card emulating device that enables said NFC card emulating device to communicate in phase with an NFC reader device while utilizing active load modulation, wherein the NFC card emulating device comprises a card antenna and the NFC reader device comprises a reader antenna, the method comprising receiving a reader signal from the NFC reader device at the NFC card emulating device through coupling of the card antenna and the reader antenna, the reader signal comprising a subcarrier modulation; estimating a resonance frequency of a system corresponding to the coupled card antenna and reader antenna based on the received communication signal; and determining the phase value based on the estimated resonance frequency and a set of parameters that represents a predetermined reference system. Furthermore, an NFC card emulating device, an NFC system, and a computer program are described.

Autonomously identifying and locating electronic equipment modules in a rack

A system is provided that includes a rack including mount positions to accept electronic equipment modules that are rack mountable and equipped with respective RFID tags, and a RFID reader array including RFID readers each of which is associated with a respective mount position, and has a read field that among the mount positions extends into only the respective mount position. Processing circuitry causes an RFID reader to radiate an interrogation signal within its read field, and in response, receive module identifiable information from an RFID tag of an electronic equipment module mounted at the mount position. A signal including the module identifiable information and mount position identifiable information is transmitted to the processing circuitry, and a second signal to a computer configured to identify the electronic equipment module from the module identifiable information, and locate the electronic equipment module at the mount position from the mount position identifiable information.

Smart lock box

A smart lock box system is described. One implementation of the lock box system includes a locking mechanism configured to securely hold a cover over a compartment. The lock box system includes a receiver capable of receiving signals from a user device. The lock box system also includes a processor configured to identify an access message in a received signal, a service to verify that the access message was provided by an authorized party, and cause the locking mechanism to be released in response to verifying that the access message was provided by the authorized party. The open/close events are recorded in a distributed ledger to document which user's device was used to access a given property at a given time. Furthermore, the smart lock box system utilizes a push notification service, based on user device's GPS, to inform owners when to depart/return to the property.
