INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, MEASUREMENT DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND PROGRAM
An information processing device includes, at least one processor that derives frequency characteristics of time-series data of a measurement result by an acceleration sensor and determines whether the time-series data indicates a running/walking state in accordance with whether all determination conditions including at least a first condition and a second condition are satisfied, the first condition being a condition that a frequency having maximum intensity in the derived frequency characteristics is equal to or higher than a lower limit frequency set in advance, and the second condition being a condition that at least one of the frequency having the maximum intensity or a frequency having second largest intensity in the frequency characteristics falls within a range equal to or higher than the lower limit frequency and equal to or lower than an upper limit frequency set in advance.
Number of steps measuring device, method, and program
A first calculation unit synthesizes respective measured values of acceleration of an X-axis, a Y-axis and a Z-axis measured by a measurement unit and calculates the synthesized acceleration. A second calculation unit calculates acceleration in a body axis direction (vertical direction) of a wearer wearing the measurement unit from the respective measured values of acceleration of the X-axis, the Y-axis and the Z-axis. The third calculation unit calculates amplitude of a time variation of acceleration in the body axis direction calculated by the second calculation unit. A reference setting unit sets a reference time for determining one step based on the amplitude calculated by the third calculation unit. A walking detection unit detects one-step walking motion of the wearer, a one-step time of which falls within a range of the reference time based on the synthesized acceleration.
PEDOMETER DEVICE, STEP COUNTING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
To reduce false counts of a device that counts a user's step count. A pedometer device, a step counting method, and a recording medium are provided. The pedometer devices includes: an acquiring unit that acquires a sensor signal output by a sensor carried by a user; an extracting unit that extracts a feature quantity from the sensor signal; a storage unit that stores a walking model which represents walking motions, the walking model being formed based on a feature quantity extracted from a sensor signal corresponding to a predetermined number of steps of walking; a comparing unit that compares the feature quantity extracted at the extracting unit with the walking model; and a deciding unit that decides whether the user has walked a predetermined number of steps, based on a result of the comparison performed by the comparing unit.
Systems and methods to measure the population of mobile devices in a predefined geographical region
Systems and method to measure a population size of mobile devices that have visited a region during a time period, by: converting location data of mobile devices into visitation data using a grid reference system, where for each mobile device and each of a plurality of time intervals in the time period, the visitation data identifies whether or not the mobile device has visited the region in the time interval; applying the visitation data as a capture history in an imaginary capture-recapture exercise, where whether or not a device has visited the region during a time interval represents whether the device is captured in the exercise in the respective capture occasion corresponding to the time interval; and estimating the population size based on an estimate of a population size of mobile devices that are not captured in the exercise from a capture-recapture statistical modeling of the capture history.

Money handling system and money handling method
A money handling system allows easy handling of money, which is processed in a first money handling apparatus installed in a shop and the like, in a second money handling apparatus installed in another place. The money is transported using a container in which the money is stored in mixed state. The second money handling apparatus receives, recognizes and counts the money of a plurality of transactions processed by the first money handling apparatus. Based on money information generated when processed by the first money handling apparatus and a recognition and counting result obtained by the second money handling apparatus, it is determined whether the money recognized and counted by the second money handling apparatus matches with the money from the plurality of transactions processed by the first money handling apparatus.
Method for a banknote recycler to self-audit
The present invention relates generally to a method for a banknote recycler to perform a self-audit of the contents of the recycler's recycling cassettes without the assistance of a human operator. The method involves the transforming of the deposit cassette into a temporary recycling cassette after the deposit cassette has been emptied of its contents. The banknotes are validated and counted as they are moved from the recycling cassette into the empty deposit cassette, which serves as the banknote storage area. After the audit of the recycling cassette is complete, the banknote recycler is then instructed to move the notes from the deposit cassette back into the appropriate recycling cassette. These same steps can be performed for each recycling cassette in the banknote recycler that is desired to be audited.
