Vehicle safety alert system
A vehicle safety alert system. The system includes a controller disposed within a vehicle and a plurality of transmitters disposed along a roadway. The controller receives speed limit data from the transmitters and then both notifies a driver of the current speed limit and alerts the driver if the vehicle exceeds the speed limit. The controller also includes GPS components and is configured to upload vehicle location data to a database and server via an existing network. The transmitters are configured to receive vehicle speed and identification information and relay the information to a server. The information regarding vehicle speed, location, and identification is then sent from the database to the appropriate monitoring agency via the server.
Capturing product details of purchases
Systems, methods and computer-readable media are disclosed for capturing purchase information regarding purchased items of a consumer. Upon receiving an image of a receipt (a receipt image) regarding a list of purchased items, receipt text is generated. The receipt text is processed to identify the purchased items in the receipt image. Accordingly, an iteration is begun to iterate through the item blocks of the receipt text. An item block corresponds to a discrete item in the receipt text. The processing comprises extracting textual elements from the item block and matching the textual elements to a known product. Upon matching the textual elements to a known product, the consumer inventory associated with the consumer is updated with regard to the purchase of the known product.
Publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style lagoon and method for providing efficient utilization of limited use land
A publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex is disclosed, with a man-made tropical, pristine-clear lagoon as the centerpiece of the complex, with surrounding entertainment, educational, sports, and commercial facilities, the complex having controlled public access and providing the look and feel of a tropical beach with clear waters and sandy beaches. In addition a method for efficiently utilizing facilities and land that are vacant, underutilized, have limited uses, or that are contiguous to or nearby recreational, educational, sports, or commercial venues is disclosed. The method providing a publicly accessible urban beach entertainment complex with a centerpiece man-made tropical-style pristine-clear lagoon. The method allows for generating revenue and increasing efficiency by pairing vacant sites, underutilized sites, limited use land, or sites that are contiguous to entertainment, educational, sports, and/or commercial venues with urban beach entertainment complexes. The complex preferably has a controlled public access, thereby allowing entrance upon payment of a fee.
Determining a future portion of a currently presented media program
This document describes techniques and apparatuses for determining a future portion of a currently presented media program. The techniques and apparatuses can receive current media reactions of one or many people to a currently presented media program and determine later portions to present in the media program based on the media reactions. In some embodiments, for example, a program can be presented live, reactions can be received during the live presentation, and the program altered on-the-fly and in real time based on those reactions. Further, the alterations can be general or tailored to a group or a particular person.

CUSTOMIZABLE MARKETING APPARATUS
Embodiments are directed to systems, apparatuses and methods for personalizing marketing materials such as video brochures. In one scenario, an electronic marketing apparatus is provided which includes a battery, an electronic display device powered by the battery, and a housing. One window is cut into the housing which allows the electronic display to be seen through at least a portion of the housing. A second window provides a view of an insert in the housing that is printed using a commodity printer. A method is also provided for personalizing marketing materials. The method includes printing a custom design on an insert using a commodity printer, cutting out at least a portion of the insert, arranging the cut out portion of the insert to show through a die cut window of the video brochure, and adhering the cut out portion of the insert to the video brochure in the arranged position.
