A system for normalizing aggregated electronic data may include at least one processor and a memory. The processor may access data scraped from a plurality of local databases, each storing localized terms for temporal local milestones; for example, a first localized term for a first temporal milestone in a first locale may differ from a second localized term for a similar second temporal milestone in a second locale. The processor may store the temporal local milestones in a central database, determine a mapping of each of the localized terms for each temporal local milestone to a normalized term for each milestone, and identify, in a displayed timeline associated with the first locale, each associated temporal local milestone using the normalized term for each milestone. The processor may further identify, in a displayed timeline associated with the second locale, each associated temporal local milestone using the normalized term for each milestone.

Methods and systems for allowing users to make informed political decisions are disclosed. In one embodiment of the invention, a method of assisting users in making informed political decisions is provided. The method includes registering a user at a computer system; extracting digital information from the received registration to authenticate at least an age of the user, a geographical location of the user, a party affiliation, or a voter activity level; comparing the geographical location of the user with those of a record of elected officials in the system; allowing the users to choose channels to follow; presenting the user with unique voting opportunities based upon their choice of channels; allowing the user to vote at least once; determining the stance of at least one elected official on the at least one unique voting opportunity presented to the user; comparing the at least one stance of the elected official with the at least one vote of the user; and generating a digital scorecard detailing the findings.

Systems and methods for monitoring and reporting the status of paper ballots for mail-in voting are provided. The paper ballots are monitored during their transit to and/or from the voters. Reports regarding the status of such paper ballots may be provided to the voters and/or the elections division. Such reports may facilitate increased transparency into the mail-in voting process.

An electronic-ticketing approach in which a user of a mobile device receives a voucher code at a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) in a transit station, enters the voucher code into the user's mobile device, and sends it to a control unit to receive an electronic ticket from the control unit delivered to the user's mobile device. The voucher code is a randomly-generated, alpha-numeric code that can be displayed on TVM displays and also can be easily be printed on TVM receipts. When the control unit receives the voucher code, it links the electronic ticket to the user before delivering the ticket to the user's mobile device so as to keep a track of the user's usage of the ticket. A software module provides a user app portion for the user's mobile device and a server app portion for the control unit, both of which operate in conjunction with each other.

A method of securely and accurately adjudicating claim payouts in a risk-sharing event pool having a claim benefit account. The method includes receiving a request for a claim payout from a claimant participating in the event pool along with information regarding the claim. Members of the event pool serving as jurors analyze the information and vote to validate or reject the claim. A predetermined number of votes are randomly selected and tallied to determine if the claimant is successful in the request for a claim payout. The method also includes the step of locking the claim benefit account where members cannot withdraw from the event pool until the term has ended. The method further includes the step of unlocking the claim benefit account to share all remaining funds equally among members when the claim benefit account balance is greater than zero and the term of the event pool expires.

In this specification a community is a group of webpages in which users share ideas with one another by posting ideas and sending messages for one another to read. An on-demand community is a community that may be created via tools specialized for creating communities, with just a few keys strokes and/or mouse clicks and by adding information (e.g., about the members and/or the topic or set of topics that the community is focused upon), such that a community maybe established within a short amount of time, such as a few minutes or a few hours. Optionally, the communities may be initially populated with ideas related to a particular topic or set of topics. The apparatus transmits a vote confirmation message to the user device.

A system includes a content generation subsystem that features a playlist controller and multimedia service logic. The playlist controller is configured to generate a presentation playlist that controls retrieval and playback of audio clips along displayable images. The multimedia service logic, in response to receiving at least a vehicle identification number from the playlist controller, (i) automatically determines vehicle option codes associated with the vehicle, each vehicle option code identifies an option installed on the vehicle; (ii) automatically translate the vehicle option codes into information that is used in recovery of a plurality of text descriptions directed to features of the vehicle, and (iii) automatically determine the a plurality of audio clip links corresponding to the plurality of text descriptions that are used in the formation of the playlist.
