Embodiments of the invention provide a semi-automated system and method for assessment of student work product. The method may comprise obtaining a plurality of student work product from a plurality of students, identifying motifs present in the student work product, forming a subset of motifs, clustering the work product into clusters based on the subset of motifs, receiving an assessment from a teacher relevant to clusters and providing assessment for a work product based on the cluster assessment. Methods according to embodiments of the invention may reduce teachers' review and feedback time and increase consistency and quality of feedback given to students.

A lottery ticket dispenser bin is configured for dispensing interconnected sealed ticket packs, and includes a housing having a front panel with a dispensing slot defined therein and a back panel. The housing has a bottom contour that includes a middle section on which the stack of ticket packs rest in an upright orientation, and a front wall that extends upwards towards the dispensing slot. A hump defines a transition surface between the middle section and the front wall, and an initial contact surface that retains a trailing ticket pack in the middle section as a leading ticket pack is pulled through the dispensing slot. The front wall defines a second contact surface against which the trailing ticket pack is pulled and bent as the leading ticket pack is pulled from the dispensing slot. An insert that defines the bottom contour is also provided for insertion into a ticket bin.

Lottery ticket dispenser bin with pivotal door

A lottery ticket dispenser bin includes a pivotal door configured on a housing and movable between a fully closed position and a fully open position relative to the housing. The pivotal door includes a back wall and a bottom frame mounted to the housing. One or more spring-loaded, elongated tabs are pivotally mounted to the bottom frame and extend transversely from the bottom frame and are biased against the back wall of the door. The tabs have a length so as to be continuously engaged against the back wall as the pivotal door moves between the fully open and fully closed positions to define a bridge that prevents the lottery tickets from moving into a hinge area between the housing and the pivotal door.

A ticket dispenser for dispensing tickets from a ticket pack provided as a pleated ribbon of tickets, the ticket pack having opposed first and last tickets for dispensing first and last from the ticket dispenser, the dispenser comprising: a ticket rack comprising a ticket platen for receiving the ticket pack; a first ticket biasing mechanism and a second ticket biasing mechanism each having a first portion connected to the ticket rack and biased with respect to the ticket rack, and each having a respective second portion configured to bias against the ticket pack and towards the ticket platen, wherein the first ticket biasing mechanism and the second ticket biasing mechanism bias against opposed end portions of the ticket pack and a gap is provided between the first ticket biasing mechanism and the second ticket biasing mechanism for the loading of the ticket pack into ticket rack and the dispensing of tickets from the ticket rack.

A lottery ticket dispensing unit includes at least one ticket compartment and a separation module that has a drive roller and an opposed idler roller, with a motor geared to the drive roller. An automatic separator device is provided, wherein the drive roller conveys a leading lottery ticket to a separation position such that a line between the leading ticket and an adjacent ticket is presented to the separator device. The separator device includes a shuttle that travels in a linear path along the line, the shuttle having a head that engages and separates the leading ticket from the adjacent ticket along the line. A bi-directional drive mechanism moves the shuttle back and forth along the linear path.

Smart bin lottery ticket dispenser with varying ticket size inserts

A lottery ticket dispenser array includes a plurality of separate bins, with each bin defined by a housing having a defined first internal space for receipt of first stack of interconnected lottery tickets. A plurality of different sized bin inserts are also provided, with each bin insert insertable into the bin housings and defining a second internal space that is less than the first internal space of the housing for receipt of a second stack of lottery tickets having a lesser individual length than the first stack of lottery tickets. A controller within each bin housing recognizes placement and size of the bin insert within the housing. The controller is in communication with an electronic drive mechanism to modify operation thereof to accommodate the lesser individual length of the lottery tickets in the second stack of lottery tickets.
