An information processing apparatus according to the present invention includes: an acquisition unit that acquires biometric information on a user in a procedure area where the user is able to select a first scheme involving use of biometric authentication in a procedure or a second scheme not involving use of the biometric authentication in the procedure; a matching unit that matches the biometric information with registered biometric information on a registrant allowed to use the first scheme and determines whether or not the user is the registrant; and a guidance unit that, when it is determined by the matching unit that the user is the registrant, guides the user for a procedure place corresponding to the first scheme and, when it is determined that the user is not the registrant, generates guidance information about a way to a procedure place corresponding to the second scheme.

An information processing apparatus according to the present invention includes: a matching unit that has a first mode to match biometric information on a user acquired at a first gate of a plurality of boarding gates with a first group of registered biometric information on an expected passenger related to the first gate and a second mode to match the biometric information with a second group of registered biometric information on all expected passengers related to the plurality of boarding gates; and a control unit that, when a matching result in the first mode is that the matching is successful, permits the user to pass through the first gate, and when a matching result in the second mode is that the matching is successful, outputs guide information that guides the user to a second gate associated with registered biometric information which successfully matches the biometric information out of the second group of registered biometric information.

Further, an available driver is identified from a set of available drivers based on one or more factors, such as a logged-in time duration of each available driver, a ride-time duration associated with the rental ride, a probability of extending the rental ride by the passenger, a destination location of each available driver, a probability of cancelling the booking request by the passenger, a current location of each available driver, a pick-up location of the passenger, a traffic stopover duration of each available driver, a number of cancelled booking requests associated with each available driver, or a driver category associated with each available driver. Thereafter, a vehicle associated with the identified driver is allocated to the passenger for the rental ride.

In some implementations, a checkpoint device receives biometric data from a person. A digital representation of the biometric data is used to obtain an identifier from an identification system. The digital representation of the biometric data may not be included in the identifier. The identifier is used by to obtain ticketing information from a ticketing system. The person may be allowed or denied entry into a ticketed area based on the ticketing information.

A method and system for transacting with a removable marking element is disclosed. A removable marking element including credentials can be associated with an account. A user can activate and manage the account via a mobile device. The mobile device can access the account by providing a product identifier. A product identifier may be provided in removable marking element packaging. For example, the product identifier may be encoded in a machine readable code on the packaging.
