COIN DISPENSER
A coin dispenser dispenses coins having plural coin diameters ranging from a smallest coin diameter to a largest coin diameter. The coin dispenser comprises: a plurality of coin tubes, each coin tube being configured to hold a stack of coins having a same coin diameter, a base plate arranged under the coin tubes, the base plate forming support area's for supporting the stacks of coins held by the coin tubes, the base plate having dispensing edges each forming an edge of the base plate, each dispensing edge associated with a respective coin tube and being spaced apart, in a respective dispensing direction, from the support area of that coin tube, and a plurality of actuators, each actuator associated with a respective coin tube and configured to push the coin at the lowest position in the respective stack of coins held by the coin tube in the respective dispensing direction from the support area to an over the respective dispensing edge. The dispensing edges each comprise a centre edge part and two peripheral edge parts, the centre edge parts extending along the plane of the base plate in a direction perpendicular to the respective dispensing direction over a width equal to or less than the smallest coin diameter. The peripheral edge parts are adjacent to the ends of the centre edge part and extending along the plane of the base plate, the peripheral edge parts diverging in the dispensing direction whereby a width between the peripheral edge parts perpendicular to the dispensing direction increases, as seen in the dispensing direction, from equal to or less than the smallest coin diameter at the centre edge part to equal to or larger than the largest coin diameter.

Coin depositing and dispensing machine
In a coin depositing and dispensing machine 10, a plurality of storing and feeding apparatuses 50 disposed below a deposited-coin transport unit 20 are arranged vertically on plural levels. A transport direction in which a coin is transported by the deposited-coin transport unit and a feeding direction in which a coin is fed out from each storing and feeding unit are substantially perpendicular to each other.

SETTLEMENT APPARATUS
A settlement apparatus contains a case body; a coin inserting slot, provided at the case body, which receives a deposited coin; a coin depositing/dispensing device, provided in the case body, which stores the deposited coin received through the coin inserting slot and dispenses the stored coin; and a concaved shape money placement portion, arranged at the case body, which has a money placement surface on which the deposited coin which is received by the coin inserting slot is temporarily placed, wherein the money placement surface is connected to the coin inserting slot in a width direction of the case body and is formed flatly, and the money placement portion is arranged across a center of the case body in the width direction.

Coin dispensing apparatus and checkout machine with the same
A coin dispensing apparatus includes a coin dispenser configured to dispense coins to a receiving tray, a sensor configured to detect one or more coins in the receiving tray, an output device, and a processor configured to control the output device to output a warning when the sensor detects no coins in the receiving tray after the processor instructs the coin dispenser to dispense a group of coins as change and the coin dispenser has dispensed at least one of the coins in the group but before the coin dispenser has dispensed all of the coins in the group.

METHOD, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM FOR COIN DISCRIMINATION
A coin discrimination system eliminates the task of visiting the location of an existing coin depositing/dispensing machine to exchange an existing coin discrimination apparatus incorporated in the machine for a new one and the task of additionally setting a new coin discrimination criterion manually to the existing apparatus. Pieces of specific information from pieces of sensor information are compared with pieces of current discrimination criterion information, conducting authenticity and denomination discrimination of coins. New discrimination criterion information setting coins are selected through judgement on whether the denomination of each coin is consistent with a target denomination and judgement on whether each coin is suitable for generating new discrimination criterion information while conducting the authentication and denomination discrimination. A piece of new specific information is extracted from the pieces of sensor information about the setting coins. The piece of new discrimination criterion information is set using the piece of new specific information.
