Systems and methods are provided for processing coin deposits and withdrawals in an automated banking machine (ABM). In one aspect, a cash management system is described. The cash management system includes a coin sorter for accepting and discriminating between a plurality of denominations of coin; at least one coin roller coupled to the coin sorter, for rolling the plurality of denominations of coin output by the coin sorter; at least one rolled coin store coupled to the at least one coin roller, for storing rolled coin in the plurality of denominations output by the at least one coin roller; and a rolled coin dispenser coupled to the at least one rolled coin store, for obtaining rolled coin requested in a withdrawal.

Systems and methods are provided for processing coin deposits and withdrawals in an automated banking machine (ABM). In one aspect, a cash management system is described. The cash management system includes a coin sorter for accepting and discriminating between a plurality of denominations of coin; at least one coin roller coupled to the coin sorter, for rolling the plurality of denominations of coin output by the coin sorter; at least one rolled coin store coupled to the at least one coin roller, for storing rolled coin in the plurality of denominations output by the at least one coin roller; and a rolled coin dispenser coupled to the at least one rolled coin store, for obtaining rolled coin requested in a withdrawal.

A coin processing apparatus houses received coins for each denomination of the coins and dispenses the housed coins in accordance with a coin output instruction. The coin processing apparatus includes: a conveyance unit that conveys the coins that are received and stored in an input section upwards one by one along a predetermined conveyance path, allows authenticity and a denomination of each coin to be checked by a checking section while the coin is conveyed, sorts the coins checked to be true coins by denomination, and dispenses the coin checked to be a false coin; and a coin output suspending unit that receives the coin dispensed from the conveyance unit, outputs the received coin from a dispensing outlet when a coin output command is given, and feeds the received coin to the input section when a feeding command is given.

The described device for separating coins comprises a rotatable base disc (32), a delimiting element (34) and a driver disc (36). A circular ring-shaped sorting track (12) is arranged eccentrically relative to the base disc (32). The driver disc (36) and a circularly arranged conveying element (14) interact in a transfer region (38) such that the lowest layer of coins among a quantity of coins conveyed by the driver disc (36) are pushed underneath the conveying element (14), clamped thereat and conveyed further.

The present invention provides a coin handling device that enables a simple and easy change of a way of handling a coin of which a type is difficult to determine according to the user needs. The coin handling device includes a detector that detects a feature of a coin, a determiner that determines a type of the coin based on the feature of the coin detected by the detector, a reception unit that receives from an operating person handling settings that designate a way of handling the coin that is an indeterminate coin of which the type is not determined and for which multiple options of the type are extracted by the determiner, and a handling unit that handles the indeterminate coin based on the handling settings received by the reception unit.

The present invention provides a coin handling device that enables a simple and easy change of a way of handling a coin of which a type is difficult to determine according to the user needs. The coin handling device includes a detector that detects a feature of a coin, a determiner that determines a type of the coin based on the feature of the coin detected by the detector, a reception unit that receives from an operating person handling settings that designate a way of handling the coin that is an indeterminate coin of which the type is not determined and for which multiple options of the type are extracted by the determiner, and a handling unit that handles the indeterminate coin based on the handling settings received by the reception unit.

A coin separation device comprises a conveying device for conveying coins in a conveying direction out of an input container along a conveying section and a testing device which is arranged on the conveying section for recognizing a coin type of a coin which is conveyed along the conveying section. An accelerating device is provided which is configured to accelerate a coin conveyed along the conveying section in dependence on recognition by the testing device in such a manner that the coin is conveyed from the conveying section into a coin collecting device, wherein the accelerating device is configured, in dependence on the coin type of the coin recognized by the testing device, to act upon the coin for acceleration.

A coin separation device comprises a conveying device for conveying coins in a conveying direction out of an input container along a conveying section and a testing device which is arranged on the conveying section for recognizing a coin type of a coin which is conveyed along the conveying section. An accelerating device is provided which is configured to accelerate a coin conveyed along the conveying section in dependence on recognition by the testing device in such a manner that the coin is conveyed from the conveying section into a coin collecting device, wherein the accelerating device is configured, in dependence on the coin type of the coin recognized by the testing device, to act upon the coin for acceleration.

Chip sorting devices and methods of ejecting chips from chip wells are disclosed. In some embodiments, chip sorting devices may include at least one chip ejection unit including at least one finger member selectively movable between a first position outside of at least one channel of a chip conveying unit and a second position within the at least one channel. In additional embodiments, a chip sorting device may include a separating wheel comprising a plurality of chip wells, each chip well configured to hold a plurality of chips. In yet additional embodiments, methods of ejecting a chip from a chip well may include urging a selected chip out of the chip well with the at least one finger member and at least one wall segment of a trailing segmented wall of the chip well.

Chip sorting devices and methods of ejecting chips from chip wells are disclosed. In some embodiments, chip sorting devices may include at least one chip ejection unit including at least one finger member selectively movable between a first position outside of at least one channel of a chip conveying unit and a second position within the at least one channel. In additional embodiments, a chip sorting device may include a separating wheel comprising a plurality of chip wells, each chip well configured to hold a plurality of chips. In yet additional embodiments, methods of ejecting a chip from a chip well may include urging a selected chip out of the chip well with the at least one finger member and at least one wall segment of a trailing segmented wall of the chip well.
