Exemplary embodiments are disclosed herein for processing one or more sheets of sheet material in a deposit include various systems and processes. The systems and processes include receiving a sheet in a sheet-accepting device. Further, the systems and processes include reading, by a sensor, an identifier on each sheet, detecting anomaly information for the sheet that identifies an anomalous characteristic of the sheet. The systems and processes also include determining, for each sheet, information about the sheet from the identifier on the sheet, including accounting information and deposit information, including a value associated with the deposit. Moreover, the systems and processes include performing a reconciling process when the anomaly information identifies an anomalous characteristic of the sheet, including debiting the account associated with the sheet based on the value associated with the deposit that included the sheet, and crediting the account based on that value.

Method for determining authenticity using images that exhibit parallax

A method for determining the validity of a parallax image, including: receiving a parallax image's captured two-dimensional image having at least three target identifiers, where at least two target identifiers are located at different depth planes in the parallax image; identifying at least three target identifiers in the parallax image's captured two-dimensional image and determining spatial relationship between at least three target identifiers in the two-dimensional image of the parallax image; comparing the spatial relationship of at least three target identifiers in the parallax image's captured two-dimensional image against a predetermined spatial relationship of at least three target identifiers that indicates authenticity; and adjudicating the authenticity of the parallax image based on the degree of difference between spatial relationship of at least three target identifiers in the parallax image's captured two-dimensional image and the predetermined spatial relationship of at least three target identifiers.

MAGNETIC SENSOR DEVICE

A magnetic sensor device includes a magnet that generates a magnetic field and sets of magnetoresistive elements arranged in a longitudinal direction that is perpendicular to a transport direction. Each of the sets of magnetoresistive elements includes a first and a second resistor. At least two sets of the first and the second resistor are arranged so as to be axisymmetric with respect to an imaginary line that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the magnet.

An ATM equipped with forensic card reader identification validation is provided. The ATM may include a real ID card slot. The real ID card slot may accept real ID cards. The ATM may include a call communications module. The call communications module may communicate with a third-party network. Upon insertion of a real ID card at the ATM, the ATM may retrieve security details from the real ID card. The ATM may transmit the security details to the third-party network via the call communications module. The third-party network may verify the security details with one or more databases which are accessible by the third-party network. Upon failure to verify the security details, the third-party network may transmit a failed verification response to the ATM.

Systems and methods for cash verification and remote deposit are provided. A method may include receiving credentials to authenticate a login to a mobile app that is associated with a first financial entity; receiving an instruction to deposit a bill of cash at a physical location associated with a second financial entity that is different from the first financial entity; illuminating a front face of the bill; capturing an image of the illuminated front face; illuminating a back face of the bill; capturing an image of the illuminated back face; extracting a first tier of features from the images; determining a denomination and/or version of the bill; when the denomination and/or version exceeds a predetermined first threshold, extracting a second tier of features; when all of the extracted features are associated with the same denomination and/or version, and all of the features that are associated with said denomination and/or version are detected, verifying the bill; and when the bill is verified and a message is received, from the second financial entity, confirming that the second financial entity received the bill, depositing an amount corresponding to the denomination in an account at the first financial entity.

Virtual teller check system

Embodiments are described herein for a teller check that includes enhanced security features. In response to a request from a user, a teller check image is generated using a check template and that includes check information in fields of the check template. The teller check also includes a unique visible pattern or unique visible picture in the image that serves as an enhanced security feature. A captured image or received image of the teller check is able to be verified based on data extracted from the unique visible pattern or unique visible picture.

Aspects of the disclosure relate to cash handling devices that provide intelligent monitoring and management of cash cycles. A cash handling device having at least one processor, a communication interface, and memory may receive, from a mobile device, a request to process a pre-staged transaction. Subsequently, the cash handling device may generate and present a graphical identifier based on the mobile device requesting access to the cash handling device. Next, the cash handling device may verify that the mobile device is authorized to perform the pre-staged transaction based on the graphical identifier being scanned by the mobile device and cause a connection to be established between the cash handling device and the mobile device. Thereafter, the cash handling device may identify and process the pre-staged transaction associated with the mobile device. Then, the cash handling device may generate a notification indicating completed processing of the identified pre-staged transaction.
