Generating a Unique Code from Orientation Information
In a general aspect, orientation information is used to generate a unique code. In some aspects, orientation information is extracted from an object. The object includes multiple elements, and the orientation information indicates the relative spatial orientations of the respective elements. The orientation information can be extracted, for instance, by a scanner system that detects the elements. A unique code is generated for the object based on the orientation information. In some examples, the elements are diamond particles that each have one or more color centers, and the orientation information is extracted by detecting the color centers.
MAGNETIC SENSOR DEVICE
In a magnetic sensor device, a sheet-tike detection object transported along a transport plane is magnetized by a magnetizing magnet that forms a magnetization magnetic field in which magnitude of a magnetic field component parallel to the transport plane is larger than or equal to a saturation magnetic field of a second magnetic body having a second coercivity larger than a first coercivity. The magnetic sensor device includes: a bias magnet that forms a bias magnetic field in which magnitude of a magnetic field component parallel to the plane of the detection object is larger than the first coercivity and less than the second coercivity in the bias magnetic field at the plane of the detection object; and a magnetoresistive effect element chip disposed at the bias magnet and facing the plane of the detection object.
Security pigment based on core-shell particles, and production method
The invention relates to a security pigment of core-shell particles, comprising a core based on a thermoplastic material, a shell based on a condensation polymer, and an organic or metalorganic feature substance present in dissolved or finely distributed form in the core, wherein the mass fraction of the shell amounts to more than 25%, preferably 50%, particularly more than 100%, in relation to the mass of the core. The invention further relates to a method for producing the core-shell particles and to value documents having the core-shell particles.
Identification device, identification method, and computer-readable medium including identification program
An identification device includes, an imaging condition determinator configured to determine an imaging condition as to whether or not an optical change in the anti-counterfeit medium is imageable from an observation angle that is an angle of captured image data in an imaging direction with respect to a reference line on an observation object surface of the anti-counterfeit medium being designed such that an observed pattern of light varies as the observation angle varies, a similarity calculator configured to obtain similarity between the captured image data and correct image data generated from the optical change corresponding to the observation angle when it is determined that the optical change is imageable under the imaging condition; and an authenticity determinator configured to perform authenticity determination as to whether or not the anti-counterfeit medium is correct based on whether or not the similarity exceeds a preset similarity threshold.
Printer for official documents
The present invention provides a printer for applying a stamp onto an official document, wherein the printer comprises an access level with an inlet for inserting the document into and removing the document from the printer, a processing level including a print head, and an inter-level document transport system for moving a document receiving platen between the access level and the processing level. The access level and the processing level are at least partly arranged on top of each other. The present invention also provides an imaging system for a printer and a method for processing an official document with a printer.

Reader Apparatus For Upconverting Nanoparticle Ink Printed Images
An improved system and method for reading an upconversion response from nanoparticle inks is provided. A is adapted to direct a near-infrared excitation wavelength at a readable indicia, resulting in a near-infrared emission wavelength created by the upconverting nanoparticle inks. A short pass filter may filter the near-infrared excitation wavelength. A camera is in operable communication with the short pass filter and receives the near-infrared emission wavelength of the readable indicia. The system may further include an integrated circuit adapted to receive the near-infrared emission wavelength from the camera and generate a corresponding signal. A readable application may be in operable communication with the integrated circuit. The readable application receives the corresponding signal, manipulates the signal, decodes the signal into an output, and displays and/or stores the output.
