System for parcel transport and tracking operated responsive to data bearing records
A system for parcel transport and tracking that operates responsive to data bearing records includes a plurality of geographically spaced repositories. The exemplary repositories include one or more enclosed compartments. Access to each of the enclosed compartments is controlled by a respective door which is in operative connection with a respective lock. Central system circuitry is in operative connection with the repositories and is operative to control access to the compartments and to cause compartments to be selectively accessible so that selected parcels may be placed therein or removed therefrom by persons authorized to access such parcels. In exemplary arrangements the central system circuitry is operative to determine bundles of parcels to be transported between respective repositories to facilitate the delivery of parcels at the respective delivery locations.
Banknote processing apparatus
This banknote processing apparatus has: an upper unit including a depositing unit configured to deposit a banknote in the banknote processing apparatus and a banknote recognition unit configured to recognize the banknote deposited from the depositing unit; and a lower unit including a temporary storage unit configured to temporarily store the banknote recognized by the banknote recognition unit and a banknote storage unit configured to store the banknote stored in the temporary storage unit. Thus, the temporary storage unit is housed in the lower unit, and therefore a user can easily perform maintenance of the temporary storage unit.
Money processing system and money processing method
Provided is a money processing system realizing easy movement of money between a plurality of money handling apparatuses. A money processing system including a plurality of money handling apparatuses further includes a management apparatus configured to detect a money handling apparatus that requires movement of money, and select, from among the plurality of money handling apparatuses, one or a plurality of money handling apparatuses to move the money between the detected money handling apparatus and the selected one or the plurality of handling apparatuses.
STERILIZING MEDIA CASSETTE
A sterilizing media cassette is described for docking with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal. The sterilizing media cassette has a body having a lower portion and four sides. The body is adapted to hold a stack of media items such as banknotes on support members positioned above the lower portion of the body. A lid is provided that couples to the body. The lid forms an enclosed inner space when coupled to the body. An ozone gas source and/or a heat source is mounted on an inner surface of the body or the inner surface of the lid. A controller activates the ozone gas source and/or a heat source to sterilize the stack of media items. This may be done for a predetermined fixed period of time after the sterilizing media cassette is docked with a self-service terminal or a docking terminal.
Automated banking machine firmware flow control
Described in example embodiments herein are techniques for implementing an automated banking machine such as an ATM. An example embodiments, tracks the flow of a note through an ATM. Another embodiment corrects errors detected during a note flow. Some embodiments are in the form of security protocols for communications or other communication protocols, or techniques for monitoring devices operating in the ATM. Yet another example embodiment is directed to security of a currency cassette. Still yet another embodiment is directed to detecting tampering of the ATM's gate and/or shuttle. Yet still another embodiment determines if notes in a shuttle were delivered.

System for the safe coupling of a re-usable bag to a banknote handling and storing machine
A system for the safe coupling of a re-usable bag to a banknote handling and storing machine includes a bag container, having a rigid upper port and a flexible bag permanently fixed to the rigid port, a lid, designed to be inserted onto the rigid port for closing the bag container when the filling operations are terminated, and a bag-holding frame. The bag-holding frame is suitable for being stably fixed to a safe structure of the machine for supporting and hooking the bag container when placed inside the machine to be filled with the banknotes. The system is provided with first coupling and hooking electro-mechanical components between the bag container and the bag-holding frame and with second coupling and hooking electro-mechanical components between the lid and the bag container. The first and second coupling and hooking electro-mechanical components are interconnected with a control unit to enable the respective functions.
Money handling apparatus and money handling method
A money handling apparatus (for example, a banknote handling apparatus) includes a destination selector configured to select a storage unit where at least one of a counterfeit money and suspect money among the money transported by the transporting unit is to be transported, from the plurality of storage units (for example, each banknote storage unit, each storage/feeding unit, collecting unit, banknote ejecting unit, and the like) and a controller configured to control the transporting unit to transport at least one of the counterfeit money and suspect money to the storage unit selected by the destination selector among the plurality of storage units.
FINANCIAL ARTICLE PROCESSING DEVICES AND METHODS
Disclosed herein are financial article handling devices comprising an external aperture connected to a rotary table. The rotary table can contain two or more financial article handling units disposed on the rotary table, each of which can be configured to form an interface with the external aperture. The financial article handling devices can receive an indication from a first financial article handling unit that the first financial article handling unit is no longer functional, disconnect the first financial article handling unit from the external aperture, and articulate the rotary table such that a second financial article handling unit is in communication with the external aperture.
Visible and accessible escrow systems and methods
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for processing financial instruments in ATMs or other processing devices. A user can deposit financial instruments, such as cash or a check, into the ATM, to be processed to determine the monetary value of the financial instruments. Once counted and valued, the financial instruments can be dropped into an escrow chamber. The escrow chamber can have a door or gate such that the financial instruments are visible, but not accessible during the transaction. If the customer discovers an error during the transaction, the door or gate can transition to an open state allowing the customer to retrieve the financial instruments.
