A banknote handling device is provided with which it is possible to constantly demonstrate sufficient device processing performance, and which prevents collisions between a transportation direction switching means and a banknote even when the operation speed of the transportation direction switching means changes. Accordingly, a paper sheet handling device for handling a plurality of paper sheets and switching the transportation direction includes: a transportation path for transporting at least one paper sheet and a transportation direction switching means for switching the direction of transportation of the paper sheet; and a paper sheet handling control means for controlling, in accordance with the constantly-changing operation speed of the transportation direction switching means, at least one of the operation timing of the transportation direction switching means, the speed of transportation of a paper sheet, and the distance between a paper sheet and a preceding paper sheet.

Various embodiments of systems and methods for direct depositing funds (e.g., consumer coin value, paper cash value, etc.) into an account at a bank or other financial institution are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the systems and methods described herein enable a consumer to pour a batch of loose coins into a coin counting kiosk and have the coin value deposited directly into one of the consumer's accounts at a financial institution (e.g., a debit card account, credit card account, savings account, checking account, etc.) by swiping their bank card through (or inserting their bank card into) a card reader at the kiosk and selecting the desired transaction.

When the instruction received by the input device is to start a predetermined job that is different from the accounting transaction and that includes depositing money into the change machine or dispensing money from the change machine, the processor causes information supporting execution of the predetermined job to be displayed on the second screen.
