SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING A DISTORTED IMAGE
20200234524 · 2020-07-23 ·

In one exemplary embodiment in accordance with the disclosure, an image processing system is configured to use a distance authentication template to execute a detection procedure that detects at least one non-linear distortion in a subject image. The distance authentication template can be generated by mapping a set of spatial coordinates of three features in a distortion-free image to a set of pixel coordinates of the three features in the distortion-free image. Addressing a non-linear distortion in the subject image can include performing remedial actions to remedy the non-linear distortion, or taking into consideration the non-linear distortion when using the distance authentication template to identify one or more features in the subject image.

Arrangement and method for aligning at least one note of value

An apparatus for aligning notes of value along a transport path has a note reader with a scanning line with areas detection areas there along. The scanning areas are arranged along a line orthogonally with respect to a central axis of the transport path. A first and at least one second transport elements serve to transport the note along the transport path in at least one transport direction. The transport elements each contact the note in a contact area. At least one aligning apparatus is used for aligning the note, which is arranged between the first and second transport elements and forms a section of the transport path. The note reader detects the trailing edge of the note in a first scanning area and in a second scanning area.

FORGERY PREVENTION STRUCTURE, FORGERY PREVENTION MEDIUM, AND METHOD FOR EXAMINING FORGERY PREVENTION STRUCTURE

In order to perform high-accuracy authentication of a forgery prevention medium having a forgery prevention structure, a forgery prevention structure provided in or on a medium for performing authentication of the medium includes: an anisotropic resonator that resonates in response to being irradiated with a first terahertz electromagnetic wave at a first frequency, a transmissivity of the first terahertz electromagnetic wave changes with a polarization direction of the first terahertz electromagnetic wave, and an isotropic resonator that resonates in response to be irradiated with a second terahertz electromagnetic wave at a second frequency, a transmissivity of the second terahertz electromagnetic wave does not change with a polarization direction of the second terahertz electromagnetic wave.

Cash processing device and server

A cash processing device according to the present invention includes plural banknote storage sections, a storage status manager, and a display controller. The plural banknote storage sections store banknotes. The storage status manager manages a storage status in each of the banknote storage sections. According to the storage status in each of the banknote storage sections, the display controller displays a display screen to suppress a specific transaction from out of plural transaction types and/or to encourage a transaction other than the specific transaction from out of the plural transaction types.

Generating a unique code from orientation information
10685199 · 2020-06-16 · ·

In a general aspect, orientation information is used to generate a unique code. In some aspects, orientation information is extracted from an object. The object includes multiple elements, and the orientation information indicates the relative spatial orientations of the respective elements. The orientation information can be extracted, for instance, by a scanner system that detects the elements. A unique code is generated for the object based on the orientation information. In some examples, the elements are diamond particles that each have one or more color centers, and the orientation information is extracted by detecting the color centers.

Method for authenticating a security marking utilizing long afterglow emission, and security marking comprising one or more afterglow compound
10685524 · 2020-06-16 · ·

The invention relates to a method for authenticating a security marking including at a long afterglow compound capable of emitting long afterglow luminescence light in a given wavelength region, the method allowing to detect a presence and an amount of said long afterglow compound based on comparison of a measured initial intensity value of a spectral component of the emitted light within said wavelength region and associated afterglow time with corresponding reference values representative of a reference amount value of a genuine long afterglow compound. The invention also relates to a reader and system operable to implement the steps of the method.
