A banknote handling system includes an unlocking system. The unlocking system includes a camera, a first mechanical arm to which one or a plurality of keys are affixed, and a controller that determines a position of a keyhole based on an image from the camera, and controls the first arm to insert one of the one or the plurality of keys into the keyhole and turn the inserted key for unlocking. In many examples, the unlocking system is configured to unlock a banknote cashbox.

A method for evaluating sensor data for a value document includes a memory and a multi-core processor arranged to access the memory. A management sub-group of the cores comprises at least one of the cores, and at least one evaluation subgroup of the cores comprises at least one other of the cores. The management subgroup manages the memory regarding the storing of at least the sensor data and generates evaluation information for carrying out the evaluation. At least one evaluation subgroup carries out at least one part of the evaluation in dependence on the evaluation information and stores the result in the memory.

A pusher plate stacking bin apparatus is provided for a valuable media depository. The apparatus comprising a pusher plate driven by a rack and pinion apparatus to stack a media item that is in a final position within the apparatus onto a media stacking platform. The media item is urged into the final position such that a trailing edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a fixed media guide and such that a leading edge of the media item overhangs and rests on a hinged media guide with a bottom surface of the media item elevated above the media stacking platform. The rack and pinion apparatus drives the plate past the media guides causing the hinged media guide to drop and the media item to fold along the leading edge as the media item is stacked onto the platform.

The invention provides a banknote processing machine having a power control electronics that comprises: a low voltage monitor constructed to detect a lowering of a voltage of the power delivered by the power source below a minimum voltage; and a power failure control circuit constructed to, in the case that a lowering of said voltage below said minimum voltage occurs, discontinue supply of power to a first group of said elements and to continue supply of power to a second group of said elements.

An automatic teller machine includes a banknote conveyance channel, a banknote recycling channel, and a banknote circulation channel. The banknote conveyance channel includes an annular channel, a first branch channel, a second branch channel, a third branch channel, a fourth branch channel, and a fifth branch channel. When a checkout apparatus 10 serving as a money handling apparatus detects that change is left behind after dispensing of the change in a settlement mode, the checkout apparatus 10 shifts from a settlement mode to a left money retaining mode. Upon receiving money in the left money retaining mode, the checkout apparatus 10 stores information on the amount of the money, date and time of the reception, etc., in a memory, thereby managing the left money separately from proceeds from sales. Since the same money handling unit as that for the settlement is used for storage and feeding of the left money, miniaturization and cost reduction of the apparatus is realized. A cassette mounting apparatus includes an apparatus-side connector connectable to a cassette-side connector of a cassette that stores money, a cassette mounting section that enables the cassette to be mounted therein, and a connection processing section that connects the apparatus-side connector to the cassette-side connector by moving the apparatus-side connector in a direction closer to the cassette-side connector.

This disclosure relates to a cashbag sealing system. The system comprises a banknote transport mechanism operable to transport a banknote to a storing unit. The storing unit includes a banknote storing bag detachably coupled to the storing unit, and an escrow plate operable to escrow the banknote before the banknote transported to the storing unit is stored in the banknote storing bag, wherein the escrow plate is operable to move from a horizontally extending hold position to a downwardly or obliquely downwardly extending release position, and wherein the banknote transported to the storing unit is escrowed on the escrow plate when the escrow plate is located at the hold position. The system further comprises a sensor configured to detect a presence of the banknote on the escrow plate, and measure a level of banknotes in the banknote storing bag.
