SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING AGAINST RELAY ATTACKS
Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for preventing relay attacks. A user device may receive (e.g., when proximate to the first access device), from an intervening device, device identification data for a first access device. A message may be received from a second access device via the intervening device. The message may include a digital signature generated based at least in part on second access device identification data. The user device may validate the message utilizing the digital signature and a public key. If the message is invalid, the user device may discard the message. If the message is valid, (e.g., unaltered), the user device may determine that the user has not confirmed an intent to interact with the second access device and may terminate an further interaction with the second access device accordingly.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, SERVER, AND TERMINAL
A provider terminal transmits, to a server, (i) location information for specifying a location of a power supply facility for supplying power to a vehicle and (ii) an acceptance period for accepting the supply of power at the location. The user terminal transmits, to the server, (i) a desired location for the supply of power to the vehicle and (ii) a desired starting time for the supply of power to the vehicle at the desired location. The server includes: a provision DB configured to store one or more pieces of association information in which respective pieces of location information are associated with respective acceptance periods; a determination device configured to determine a power supply facility corresponding to the desired location and the desired starting time; and a communicator configured to notify a location of the power supply facility.
ADDITIVE INJECTION SYSTEM FOR A RETAIL FUELING STATION AND RELATED METHODS
An additive injection system includes an additive injection controller operable to: (a) receive fuel data; (b) determine, from the fuel data, a total fuel amount corresponding to a total volume of fuel present in a fuel tank; (c) determine an untreated fuel amount corresponding to a delivered volume of untreated fuel delivered into the fuel tank, the untreated fuel amount determined based on the total fuel amount and a treated fuel amount corresponding to an expected volume of treated fuel expected to be present in the fuel tank; and (d) in response to determining that the untreated fuel amount exceeds an injection threshold, generate an injection signal to initiate injection of fuel additive into a fuel stream of untreated fuel being delivered into the fuel tank via the fuel tank inlet.
SECURE TOKENS FOR CONTROLLING ACCESS TO A RESOURCE IN A RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
A system for generating and applying a secure token in a resource distribution network is provided. For example, a headend system generates a global token based on a time duration specified for multiple meters that are in communication with the headend system through at least a mesh network in a normal condition. The global token is associated with the time duration and is applicable to the multiple meters. The headend system causes the global token to be broadcast via a broadcast network. After receiving the global token, the meter verifies the global token and determines the time duration associated with the global token. The meter further connects premises associated with the meter to a resource distribution network for at least the time duration associated with the global token.
SECURE TOKENS FOR CONTROLLING ACCESS TO A RESOURCE IN A RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
A system for generating and applying a secure token in a resource distribution network is provided. For example, a headend system generates a payment-based token based on a payment made for a meter. The payment-based token indicates a credit value to be applied to the meter. The credit value can range from a negative credit value limit and a positive credit value limit. The payment-based token is further generated based on a meter identifier. The headend system transmits the payment-based token to the meter via at least a mesh network. After receiving the payment-based token, the meter validates the payment-based token to determine that the payment-based token is generated for the meter. The meter further determines the balance associated with the meter based on the credit value specified in the payment-based token. Based on the balance, the meter connects or disconnects premises associated with the meter from a resource supply.
METHODS AND VEHICLES FOR DRIVERLESS SELF-PARK
A method for navigating a vehicle automatically from a current location to a destination location without a human operator is disclosed. The method includes identifying a vehicle location using global positioning system (GPS) data regarding the vehicle. Also included is identifying that the vehicle location is near or at a parking location. Then, using mapping data defined for the parking location. The mapping data at least in part is used to find a path at the parking location to avoid a collision of the vehicle with at least one physical structure when the vehicle is automatically moved at the parking location. The method includes instructing the electronics of the vehicle to proceed with controlling the vehicle to automatically move from the current location to the destination location at the parking location. The electronics use as input at least part of the mapping data and sensor data collected from around the vehicle by at least two vehicle sensors. The path is configured to be updatable dynamically based on changes in the destination location or changes along the path. The destination location is a parking spot for the vehicle at the parking location.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND DEVICES FOR SECURE PAYMENT AND PROVIDING MULTIMEDIA AT FUEL DISPENSERS
Methods, systems, and devices for secure payment and providing multimedia at fuel dispensers are provided. In general, a fuel dispenser can include a terminal configured to receive secure information and to show multimedia. The terminal can be configured to switch between a first mode and a second mode. The terminal can include a touchscreen. In the first mode, the touchscreen can have a shield enabled thereon that is configured to reduce a field of view of the touchscreen such that the touchscreen is only visible from specific angle(s). In the second mode, the shield can be disabled such that the touchscreen does not have a reduced field of view.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADVANCED ENERGY SETTLEMENTS, NETWORK-BASED MESSAGING, AND APPLICATIONS SUPPORTING THE SAME ON A BLOCKCHAIN PLATFORM
Systems and methods for financial settlement of transactions within an electric power grid network are disclosed. A multiplicity of active grid elements are constructed and configured for electric connection and network-based communication over a blockchain-based platform. The multiplicity of active grid elements are operable to make peer-to-peer transactions based on their participation within the electric power grid by generating and executing a digital contract. The multiplicity of active grid elements generate messages autonomously and/or automatically within a predetermined time interval. The messages comprise energy related data and settlement related data. The energy related data of the multiplicity of active grid elements are based on measurement and verification. The energy related data and the settlement related data are validated and recorded on a distributed ledger with a time stamp and a geodetic reference.
Digital Certificate and Reservation
An access device is provided for use in an access control system. The access device includes a processor having control of a door lock, and a communication module connected to the processor. The processor is able to receive a reservation certificate presented by a portable terminal through the communication module. The processor activates the door lock when the current reservation certificate has been presented and disables an alarm system when the current reservation certificate has been presented.
Methods and systems for conjugated authentication and authorization
Methods and systems for conjugated authentication and authorization are provided, where two entities are associated through the use of respective conjugated credentials. The credentials of the user and a respective vehicle are both generated in a method that cryptographically binds the two entities and their respective pieces of data together so that the binding of the two entities can be easily verified by a third party without the use of external databases.
